Pale version of ealier Armstrong books November 5, 2008 Toffee I was looking forward to reading this new offering, however the goods failed to deliver. The characters and the plot are just pale versions of those found in her ealier books, which are way way much better than this. I supose if you've never read any of Kelley Armstrongs books then you might find this interesting. However compared to Bitten, Stolen or Industrial Magic it's just boring and transparent. I'm still hopefully for the other books coming out soon, but at the moment I'm not so eager to read them. Such a shame.
Good Start October 17, 2008 Tash (London) This was a really good start to a new series with Armstrongs usual flair for writing a gripping story. P.S. What happen with the front cover of the book? Ugly (not in a good way)
fab fab fab fab! October 7, 2008 Mrs. K. Brookbank (Mendip, England) I really enjoyed this book, a great young adult novel. It definatley leads onto another book no different from any author really. The charachters were well planned and interesting. I loved the otherworld series and couldn't wait for this one to come out. In the UK this book came out in paperback so didn't set me back a fortune ( 3.25 on amazon) so would definatley buy the next in the series. If you like LJ Smiths Secret Circle or Meg Cabot 1-800-Where-are-you series, you should like these., But be warned this is not like to other otherworld books
New series for Kelley Armstrong October 4, 2008 Louise (Reading) I've been a fan of the Otherworld series for some time and although I am not the target audience for this book I bought it because I enjoy the author's books. Well I was not disappointed, the story was really good and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
The Summoning September 30, 2008 CJ Taylor (UK) This is the first book I have read by Kelley Armstrong and I absolutely loved it. The story centres around Chloe Saunders who gets sent to Lyle House, a speacial place for teens with mental problems, the only thing is she isn't mentally ill, she can see and speak to ghosts, otherwise knows as a necromancer! Whilst at the house she meets a group of other teens including brothers Simon and Derek, obnoxious Tori and fire-starting Rae, but what connects them and why have they all been sent to Lyle House? This book really leaves you guessing and is very hard to put down, the first in the Darkest Powers trilogy, the ending will leave you eagerly awaiting the second book!
