Really, Really, written by Kes Gray and illustrated by Nick Sharratt , is a diamond of a picture book telling the story of young Daisy and her first encounter with a new babysitter.

When Daisy's mum rushes out of the house without having time to leave instructions for Angela, the cheeky little minx quickly decides that she can have a little fun. When Angela asks her what she normally has for tea, Daisy tells her she always has ice cream and chips--"Really, really". When Angela asks Daisy if she would like a glass of milk, she says she is only allowed to drink lemonade--"Really, really". And when Angela asks Daisy what time she usually goes to bed, she tells her midnight--"Really, really". As the evening wears on, Daisy's fibs get bigger and bigger--but what will mum say when she gets home and finds out that the new babysitter has let her daughter get away with murder?

This clever little book will entertain adults almost as much (if not more!) than children, with its wide-eyed look at how even the best behaved children like to push things to the limit. Bold illustration and easy to follow, repetitive text thoroughly involves them in the story, while the cheeky ending will have them laughing out loud--fantastic fun. Age 3 and over. --Susan Harrison
