Amazon.co.uk Review Girls in Love is the first title (followed by Girls Under Pressure) in a trilogy for older readers (young teens) by award-winning author Jacqueline Wilson. Already an immensely popular author of books for younger readers (Bad Girls, The Suitcase Kid and Double Act) with Girls in Love Jacqueline Wilson shows she's sure to be equally popular with girls in their early teens. As well as the boyfriend problem, this hilariously entertaining novel touches on the deeper pains associated with the loss of a parent and coming to terms with a new step-parent. Ellie, Magda and Nadine are determined to explore the, as yet uncharted, country of the boyfriend. When best friend Nadine gets a boyfriend, Ellie finds herself saying that she's got one too. Trouble is, he's the too young, too nerdy and too ugly boy who fell in love with her during her boring holiday in Wales. But when Nadine's dishy boyfriend starts causing trouble we see just how important girlfriends are and just how lucky Ellie is to have found a boy who is really her friend. An amusing and delightful read by someone who clearly knows what she's writing about. --Tamsin Palmer

The best book that relates to girls! November 23, 2003 H. Wilkinson 8 out of 15 found this review helpful
Girls in Love from the tital it shows that this book is going to relate to us from the start. With the wit and humour alos the sadness and surprise and shock off the book. It will surely start you off on the first of four books in a good way. If you have never read a Jacquelin Wilson book than you definatly read this. But rest a sure you will defientaly be hooked and you will want to buy other books in this seriouse. If you are over 13 and are starting to see the real life of you first kill, and getting a boyfriend this is the book for you. Its great.

Jaqueline Wilson works the wonders on teenager girls! October 17, 2003 nicola (morpeth, northumberland United Kingdom) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Girls in love is the one of the best books i've read and i've read alot of books.I have all of jaquelines books and this one has to be my favourite. The thing i like most about Jaquelines work is they are based on real life and actually help some teenagers that have the same promblem. This particular book is about three best friends called Nadine, Mags and Ellie and one of them gets a boyfriend and nearly ruins their friendship but they soon realise that friends are more important than boys.
Read this book!!!!! July 19, 2003 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Have you ever been in love? Do you like the way you look? How late can you stay?If you want to find the answer, well you just have to read this book then. It's a 3 book in 1 series about a teenager called Ellie Allard who find life hard, she never had a boyfriend before and with her bestfriends (Magda and Nadine who are drop dead gorgeous)around theirs no chances for Ellie who just happens to be fat. Ellie not getting on well with her Dad new girlfriend Anne (Ellie wish her my was still around, she died when Ellie was younger) Do you think Ellie is going to cope with all this in her life you will just to read this book to find out.
