Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The spirit of Christmas   December 4, 2005
5 out of 5 found this review helpful

A perfect book for getting one into the mood for Christmas. For people of all ages and faiths, the book looks at the themes and traditions of Christmas, and how they came about. Written from the author's own experience of growing up in a big clergy family, and now as a working mother and wife of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the book has a very personal voice. Written in a clear and accessible style, the book has great charm and humour, and is full of Williams's own insights and questions about the Christmas story, backed up by wonderfully chosen quotations from literature and beautifully illustrated with fine art reproductions. A very positive book, it leaves you really looking forward to the big day.
