An Entertaining Autobiography February 15, 2004 29 out of 29 found this review helpful
This is not a book to show you how to give up smoking. It is Allen Carr's autobiography from his earliest days to where his Easyway company is now. Yes, it is entertaining, but be aware that the Easyway method is not described, other than little snippets relating to the plan. The earlier Easyway book is what you need if your intention is to give up.
A little more packing....... January 22, 2004 Chris (Manchester) 7 out of 17 found this review helpful
I liked this book very much, but there seemed to be a lot missing. There is precious little about important friends and family. For example: I know Allen was given the money to pay for the cost of his first book by a friend called Sid Sutton, but a brother would not help him.To know the difficulties he encountered would have been further insiration to me. In the movies, whole sequences can end up on the cutting room floor but with books whole sequences disapear forever at the touch of a delete button. When a book is commissioned the author submits it and the final say lies with the publishers. Someplace in the ether there are whole paragraths of informatitve and entertaining stories, never to be seen in print! However I learned alot about the Easyway method and life in general. It is entertaining and I certainly hoped I would never reach the end. I have to settle for reading it twice. Buy this book today!
