A good read all in all, as you'd expect from Sophie Kinsella June 29, 2008 Lizbet (Milton Keynes) Although Becky is incredibly warm and funny as always, I must confess to feeling a twinge of annoyance with the character at times regarding her wild imaginings, and also her inability to tell people the truth. She gets carried away, however, and doesn't want to hurt people's feelings, so she can be forgiven for it. She's also still in the habit of telling her partner, Luke, tiny white lies regarding her shopping habit. Yes, she still shops for England, or should that be New York? In this third book in the series, Becky is living with Luke in New York. She loves her work as a Personal Shopper at Barneys department store. Then Luke proposes, and all seems hearts and flowers . . . Except somehow she finds herself caught up in big plans for weddings in New York and in Oxshott (to take place on the same day!). Along the way, Luke has a breakdown brought about by his relationship with his mother, the cold Eleanor. It is left to Becky to pick up the pieces. And Becky does eventually solve the problem of the two weddings, and everybody ends up happy (as you do). I think Luke's character could be developed. He seems a little too distant at times.
Great book!!! March 17, 2008 L. Biddle (Blackpool, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is one of the best. It is so funny, i found myself laughing out loud a number of times. I think the shopaholic books are getting funnier and funnier each time one comes out. This book is true in what she is saying, we have to make every one happy, even though it is your wedding, and she does it in such a hilarius way!!! a must read for all women out there who likes a giggle.
Un-put-downable! February 12, 2008 S. Atcha (Bolton, UK) I couldn't wait to get to the end of the book to see how Becky B managed to untangle herself from the double wedding fiasco! Having said that I didn't want the book to end. This is not my favourite in the Shopaholic series but still a great, funny and intriguing read!
Fantastic! January 11, 2008 Kathy 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
After reading the first two i quickly went out and bought this one. I read it in a day! You can only but empathise with becky as she becomes more tangled in wanting to please everyone...yet you can only but laugh when you think only she could manage to have 2 weddings on the same day! To see how she does it you must read it! It will make you laugh till you cry! I'd also like to recommend reading Tino Georgiou's bestseller--The Fates--if you missed it!
Hilarious!!! December 5, 2007 Fiona Allen (St Louis, France) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Becky can really, really get on your nerves but you cannot help love her and wonder how on earth she is going to get out of the tangled web she has created for herself this time. I often wonder how Luke can put up with her but her adorable side can always win you over. I don't think this is the best in the series (Shopaholic and Sister must win that one) but it is definitely worth every penny. I just pray that Sophie manages to come up with more and more stories about Becky.
