Terribly dull ... October 8, 2008 M. Bound (UK) I bought this book after I saw the film "PS, I love you", and was expecting to enjoy this book, but what a disappointment. It is poorly written, extremely dull, nothing happens, repetitive and a true struggle to get through. I did finish it, I wish I hadn't wasted my time though.
Good read, but ... September 28, 2008 Carole (birmingham) I had heard a radio interview that the author had done regarding this book, so seeing as it was half price in woolies, i decided to get it! To be fair, i thought the begining was a bit rushed, and the ending a bit bodged up, if you know what i mean? Its quite a way into the book, before you know how she managed to have her accident, and the ending seems as if it was thrown together, maybe to meet a deadline? However, i have to say the idea is intresting, my hubby thought it was freaky. There were times when i was laughing out loud, but for the life of me, i coundnt get my hubby to see what was so funny - i have to point out he is someone who finds the simpsons highly entertaining tho..... Joyce's dad is a complete gem, and the bit where she is on the telly live, i was nearly falling off my chair laughing. Buy and enjoy, by all means.
One of the Best Books I've ever read.... September 20, 2008 C. Roberts (wales) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've read most of Aherns books and in my opinion this is her best yet. By Page 2 I was in Tears! I laughed out Loud on many occasions and cried again a number of times before the end! This is a book which brings out every emotion & more, a moving modern day Fairy Tale with Feel Good Factor & a Happy Ending - Everything you want & more from a book. I loved the "Dad" Character, so Funny and very realistic. I think everybody knows somebody like him (The Airport scene was hilarious). I'd love to see this made into a Film like P.S. I love you. Yet another Triumph from the Cecelia Ahern.
No more memories please September 10, 2008 Mrs C M Murphy 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I did enjoy the other novels written by this author and therefore thought that this novel would be in the same easy to read style. Unfortunately I found myself re-reading parts that I had already read (particularly at the start). I couldn't get into it and was glad to have finished it as it never got going. I was confused most of the way through the book and found it had a disappointing ending. I don't think I will be buying any more Cecelia Ahern books in future if this is a taste of what is to come.
Thankyou Cecelia September 4, 2008 Dusty (uk) wonderfully brilliant. i really enjoyed this, just excellent. i wnat this to be as movie like ps i love you
