This book will appeal to younger horror fans July 26, 2001 chris.bartholomew1@btinternet.com (England) 4 out of 11 found this review helpful
I think on this book Masterton must have been either aiming for a lower age or has had a lapse in narrative expertise. I would have rather read this book ten years ago when I was at school with the hope of a nightmare. Stick to PREY and THE WALKERS, more Masterton style.
Chilling but tame June 27, 2001 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
The first time you read this book, you find yourself sat in the dark after being unable to put the book down all afternoon, jumping at every little sound, a chill running down your spine at every movment in the shadows. Because of its familiarlity, you are able to identify with the characters, until the very end. It scares you by using paranoia, making you think that the walls will swallow you whole if you get to close. A brilliant piece by a brilliant and original author.
Bones however strong cannot stop the force of evil. January 3, 2001 vce.teresas@memo.volvo.se (ENGLAND) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
An estate agents with the most sinister goings on become unravelled when a new recruit starts. The characters are very real and the house's give you goose pimples on entry. Feel the force and READ IT NOW! I have read a few of Grahams books. I highly recommend Prey.
WATCH OUT FOR LIVING STATUES! February 12, 2000 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a great book and I would reccomend it to anybody. It isn't a 'haunted house' story, like the cover would suggest. It is, in fact about a living statue that is able to travel from house to house through underground forces. A great book that I would reccomend to anyone. Buy it NOW!
BEWARE OF THE WALLS.........YOU MIGHT BE SUCKED IN!!!!!!!!!! October 10, 1999 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is brilliant. When I first looked at it I just did not want to put it down. I only liked the book because of it's cover, but you should never judge a book by it's cover! At first the book starts off a bit boring but once you get to the middle you just can't help yourself. This book is about a boy called John, who works for an estate agent. The owner of the estate agent is called Mr Vane who is very mysterious and a funny looking bloke.John is very anxious to know more about Mr Vane.So one day he goes into Mr Vane's office and finds out about a secret which only Mr Vane knows, then John gets into BIG TROUBLE.........So go on BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
