Brilliant and so so sad! October 6, 2008 Margaret (UK) I purchased this book on the spur of the moment after reading the great reviews it received. I am so pleased I did. If you're a dog or an animal lover then this book will reach into your body pulling at your heart. I haven't cried so much for a while. As I was nearing the end of this book. I was sobbing so much my tears were from heart wrenching sobs. I really loved getting know Marley and his family in this book, and although I shed a few tears at the beginning of the book and during the end, there were many moments where I was sat laughing in stitches through reading about his antics. This is such a heartfelt true story of how John and Jenny got their first puppy, and how he changed their lives for the next 13 years. Causing havoc and distress at the worst of times but also in an instant bringing happiness and laughter and lessons in life, to all who loved him. I recommend this book to everyone. It is a book I shall always keep close to my heart.
Don't miss it September 5, 2008 Eliza (Warwickshire, England) It will make you laugh. It will make you cry. I was bought it for a Birthday present and devoured it in a matter of hours. I have since bought it for three other people. The best book I have read in ages, and I read alot
Truly Amazing!! August 17, 2008 Cinderella29 (Newport, Wales) This book is simply amazing, I loved it from start to finish and there wasn't a dull moment through the whole of it. It doesn't matter if your a dog lover or not, this book is for everyone! I love books, but this is definatly one of the most memerable I have read in a LONG time. I have a dog of my own, but after reading this book I found that I spent more time with my dog that I used to, this book made me think about how loyal a dog can be. To sum it up an amazing book and well worth reading.
MARLEY AND ME June 21, 2008 M. SCOTT (Belfast) I Got this book because one of my rottweilers had to be put to sleep in Feb 08, I could not bring myself to read this book until may 08. I am so glad I read it, I couldnt see the words half the time for the tears but I ALSO LAUGHED alot, this is a fantastic book for anyone who has losted a pet it will help you relaise that you should be happy that you had the honour to have your pet in your life... one of the best books I have ever read.
fantastic, real, and emotional June 17, 2008 sandy (yorkshire, uk) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this book is the best biography i've ever read, it took me 3 evenings to read, staying up until 4.30am i had gotten so hooked. I cried, I laughed, but i could recognise every step in the dogs i see every day, including my own. If you need that feel good feeling from a book read this. I don't usualy cry at books but this one had me sobbing on more tham one occasion, a well written book, that has made me think about the inevitebility of dog ownership, the time when you have to say goodbye, but not in a sad way, with a reflection on all the good times and all the fun we shared. Enjoy them whilst you can, even the naughtiness, as you will be able to look back on the shredded furniture with fondness when they are gone, and laugh.
