5 out of 5 stars can't wait for the next book to come out   July 17, 2008
G. Dalessandro (Scotland, UK)
This book had me sitting on the edge of my seat. There is a lot of angst in these books which never sits very well for me, however it only brings certain characters closer together.

I almost feel as thought SM has taken various themes from certain classics such as Romeo and Juliet and Wuthering Heights, with the exception that the ending is always hopeful.

Regarding this book - the plot was fantastic, the characters even more lovable (Edward especially). He is Heathcliffe, Romeo, Darcy - all mixed together! One thing that irritated me was Bella's ungratefulness towards Edward and his family who are trying to look out for her. She must know by now it's for her own good. Hopefully the final book will tie things up with Jacob (meeting someone else) because he was getting quite tiresome in this novel, and hopefully Bella and Edward will both get what they want. She will break many hearts if it doesn't.

5 stars!

5 out of 5 stars Cannot wait for Breaking Dawn!   July 5, 2008
Miss MC (Surrey, UK)
As with Twilight and New Moon, I finished this in a day, I could not put it down. In this book you really see Bella's struggle in balancing her relationship with Edward (the vampire) and Jacob (the werewolf), as well as having to deal with external threats. I love the way Meyer really shows the depth of feelings that the characters have toward each other, and by the end you get a much better understanding of the complexities in their relationships.
As with the other books, the way Meyer describes every detail - a slight movement or look by a character, really helps to bring them alive as well as add to the overall tension.
There is more interaction between the vampires and werewolves as well, which is interesting to read and I love the humour in a few of these moments.
This again is an all-consuming, roller-coaster of emotions that will have you hooked from beginning to end.

4 out of 5 stars Good   June 29, 2008
Ana C. Mackenzie (south africa)
This book was a complete follow on to Twilight and Moonlight, but I took off a star because i disliked the way Bella is completely lovesick over Edward and anything that Jacob did was automatically irritating to her. I felt like saying to Bella that she should see that Jacob only has her best interests at heart. But that may just be my own personel opinion, and other people may like that aspect.
Aside from that, this was an amazing book and I enjoyed reading it very much. I cant wait untill Breaking Dawn, the fourth in the series.

5 out of 5 stars Team Edward or Team Jacob?   June 24, 2008
Ms. Jenny Davies (UK)
Warning: contains spoilers for 'Twilight' and 'New Moon'.

'Eclipse', the third book in The Twilight Saga, has been described as the best book in the series so far (I disagree with this, but I seem to be in the minority). Stephenie's writing is definitely better, and her characters are gaining new depth every chapter.

Whereas 'Twilight' and 'New Moon' focused on the finding & losing of love, 'Eclipse' explores the hard choice of choosing. Bella has a very hard decision to make: between Edward, her vampire soulmate, or Jacob, her werewolf best friend. Bella is presented with a choice, and it's a choice that will define the rest of her life.

'Eclipse' is just as addictive as the previous two installments (When I read it for the first time, I was up until 4am), and features the same irresistible characters we've come to know and love.

After this book's release in August 2007, the famous battle begun: Team Edward, or Team Jacob? Which team will you choose?

5 out of 5 stars Don't start if you ever want to stop!!!!   June 22, 2008
Asrialth (the Netherlands)
The way I got so attached to Twilight was becasue I found the book in Dutch in the library back in Holland. I read it, and I liked it, but that was it.
I was never interested enough to check out more about it. And then, by total coincedence (or divine intervention :P) I found new Moon in the book store, in english. I found out that when you read the books in English, they are way better! I couldn't close it. So i bought Eclipse the moment it was released, (I kind of bought the entire Trilogy in English immidiately :P) and I found myself very much in love with Edward, en not being able to close the book.
It's just such a damned great book! The writing style is just perfect; it's funny, and sarcastic, which is great. I like the characters so much. Everyone has a character of his own, and half way through the book, of which I by the way think it's the best in the saga so far, I knew the characters so well, as if they were my best friends. Which is pretty sad, I admit. But, I tink that everyone who reads the same book 14 times because it's so funny and romantic is pretty sad :p

Anyway, I started to read Eclipse 24 hours a day, which cost me some nights of sleep and some angry parents, and after I'd finished it, I started all over again. That kind of happened five times untill I found out I was getting mental and I put the book away, only to pick it up again and start reading whenever in the need of some romance.

I love the way Edward and Bella are together. So sweet! And poor Jacob! Though he kind of is an ass for kissing Bella without her permission. I really love the love-triangle thing. That was great.

Then there where the parts of the book which I didn't like as much as the rest. For example the part where Bella kisses Jacob. I mean, come on! You have the best boyfriend one could ever imagine! You have everything yuhave ever wished for! And then (what an amazing timing -_-) you kiss your best friend, and with that don't only hurt you boyfriend's feeling, but also you best friend's feelings, because after you told him you DO love him, you walk away never to see him again.
That was so damn stupid.

But there wasn't much I didn't like, and mostly I just loved this book, so I pre-odered Breaking dawn immidiately, and I bought The Host too. (which is a great book)

To everyone who has loved Twilight and new moon: I really recommend this thrid book.
To everyone who hasn't read any of them: I recommend all of them :P

I'm a real Stephenie Meyer fan. I'm so sorry for bothering you with my endless I-love-Twilightsaga-posts.
