Pretty good book June 30, 1999 I didn't even know HTML when I bought this book, let alone stylesheets, and I found it helped teach me both. Very clear explanations, good examples, helpful sample software on the CD-ROM.
Still bad April 1, 1999 There are many good parts, but this book is flawed. It is clearly intended for use by beginners if you alredy know HTML or cascading style sheets it won't help you. The CD-ROM doesn't work on a Macintosh. Sometimes I wonder why I keep coming back here.
I agree it's a great book! February 9, 1999 I agree with the reviewers who found this to be a great book. It's packed with good information and leads you step-by-step through creating your first style sheets. I don't agree with the anonymous person who keeps leaving fake reviews under different names. I don't know what their beef is, but I really liked the HTML explanations and examples, as well as the shareware software.
Excellent treatment of confusing subject. January 14, 1999 This book really helped me master cascading style sheets. It is well-organized and leads you through all the basics before showing exactly how to create simple style sheets. After reading this book I was able to apply what I learned to create my own Web page styles. I think very experienced HTML coders will find the early part of this book too basic for their needs, but it fills the bill for the rest of us. I also recommend Danny Goodman's Dynamic HTML, which has an exhaustive look at how various browsers support (or don't support) style sheets.
Great learning tool! December 18, 1998 I learned a lot about both HTML and CSS from this book. Those of us who are still struggling to hand-code Web pages find a thorough approach like this to be an invaluable help. I thought the CD-ROM with the evaluation copies of the software was a great idea. It's a shame that an anonymous person is allowed to post three different reviews bad-mouthing this book, for whatever motives. I really liked it!
