Top item June 2, 2006 Gavin Lindsay (Leighton Buzzard, UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Being new to Elements I needed something to get me off the ground quickly. Not being a fan of technical manuals it needed to be something I could dip into anywhere and achieve results. This book fits the bill admirably. Scott Kelbys style is refreshing and entertaining without being condescending. Buy this book with confidence.
Clear tutorials February 15, 2005 Roy (Dorset United Kingdom) 29 out of 29 found this review helpful
I purchased this book with Scott Kelby's 'The Photoshop Elements 3 Book For Digital Photographers' and saved a massive 18 by buying through Amazon, than from regular high street stores. This book is clearly laid out with well explained step by step instructions for each tutorial, alongside clear full colour photos showing each step. Within 10 minutes of opening the book I had manipulated my first photo and was very pleased with my results. Following consise instructions. A whole range of professional effects can be achieved by following the book as a guide. An invaluable book to get the most out of Photoshop Elements 3. The 'Down and Dirty Tricks' book covers topics slightly more complex than 'The Photoshop Elements 3 Book For Digital Photographers' but both are handy reference books.
This is excellent stuff February 6, 2005 27 out of 28 found this review helpful
I was so impressed when I saw this in my local computer store I bought it and then found that it was 10 cheaper on Amazon! The book is well laid out and works as a handy reference manual rather than a heavy tutorial. I would say people at all levels of digital photo editing can benefit from the book. The Author describes a whole range of Photo processes, effects, improvements, restorations, etc in an easy to follow walkthrough of each one. If you value your photographs and would like to improve quickly and painlessly (and impress people) this book is a must. Beginners will soon learn that improvements are only a few clicks away, and I think a few experts might admit to wishing they had thought of some of these ideas before! I also bought Scott Kelbys Photoshop Elements 3 Book for digital photographers the next day and this is presented in the same user friendly way. Buy them both. You will enjoy....
