I like the style of the Missing Manuals much better than the Dummies books which often try too hard to be funny. This is not without the occasional light-hearted or ironic comment, but it gets on with the job of explaing how to make your movie. The acid test was that I read the book just before my iMac was delivered and went right ahead and made a movie. Well, okay I referred to the book once or twice, but felt I knew enough having read it without the computer in front of me.
I guess it would have been nice to have some colour graphics, but it doesn't really matter. Everything's laid out very well and this ia a very attractive book you'll want to keep. Its best feature is the transparent writing style that is totally easy to grasp, doesn't patronise, just gets on with it. I can't imagine it being written any better.
