Amazon.co.uk Review
Anyone who has missed good suspense novels should put Honeymoon on their list straight away. James Patterson has always been fascinated by serial killers, yet he has tended in the past to stick with the boys; in Nora Sinclair, he and Howard Roughan create a classic Black Widow, who kills her suitors and husbands for their wealth. John O'Hara knows most of the truth about Nora, but until his investigations get close to her, he has no idea of just how much charisma and appeal she brings to the job of murder. And Nora, thinking him just an insurance agent, is surprised by how much she thinks about him, and not necessarily as a future victim. There is a quirky romance here, full of lies and deceit and also genuine feeling and a sense of menacing jeopardy for both viewpoint characters. The story-telling is Patterson's usual fast-paced staccato narration, but it has time for some interesting side-bar issues--there are things in both Nora and John's pasts and presents which only gradually come to our attention. --Roz Kaveney.

5 out of 5 stars Lovely story   August 12, 2007

HONEYMOON is wonderful, it is great, it is griping. Having read James Patterson's earlier books before reading his recent titles such as London Bridges, I was beginning to get the impression that he was slipping. But Honeymoon dispelled that encroaching feeling. And now, I can look forward to his other titles with my earlier anticipation. This amazing thriller about a woman who murders her husband, then gets married and murders the other husband and later a fiancé, meets the standard James Patterson had created through his earlier works. The novel's characters are poignant but entertaining. And with the shortness of the chapters, the novel maintains the fast pace that makes all good stories page turners and books that are hard to set aside even for a short while. The details are plentiful.
With the rising number of black widows in our society, this book pierces the mindset of this growing phenomenon. Through Nora Sinclair, James Patterson successfully created one of the most intriguing characters ever. The plot is outstanding and leaves you guessing and wanting to know more from the opening pages of the novel until the very end. With its twists and turns, Honeymoon deserves all the credits as one of the most outstanding thrillers of the decade. Enjoy the ride with this book. Also recommended:USURPER AND OTHERS, CRIME AND PUNISHMENT, THE BIG BAD WOLF, UNION MOUJIK because of the depth of the stories.

5 out of 5 stars AMAZING AUTHOR......   May 26, 2007

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE JAMES PATTERSON BOOKS, THE FIRST I READ WAS 'ALONG CAME A SPIDER' (WHICH I BORROWED FROM A FRIEND) AND I HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK. I'D LIKE TO WRITE A REVIEW FOR ALL OF HIS BOOKS I HAVE READ BUT THERE ARE TOO MANY SO I WILL WRITE A GENERAL REVIEW. JAMES PATTERSON WRITES IN SUCH A WAY THAT KEEPS THE WRITER GRIPPED FROM START TO FINISH, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT'S COMING NEXT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALL HIS BOOKS, MANY OF WHICH I SELL AT A LOW PRICE, CHECK THEM OUT. THANK YOU.

4 out of 5 stars Things aren't always what they seem...   October 17, 2005

I am not a huge James Patterson fan, which is not to say that I haven't enjoyed the books of his that I have read but I am not one to rush out to buy his latest book. However, a commercial for his newest novel `HONEYMOON' piqued my interest, so when I noticed that it was on sale at my local bookstore I decided to take a chance and purchase it. I am pleased that I did, `HONEYMOON' is a fast paced thriller that will keep you rushing through the pages to find out what happens next. I quickly finished this book in two days, as there was never a dull moment.

It is established early on that Nora Sinclair is a cold-blooded killer. She kills for money, and while often times she may have an attack of conscious it never stops her from attaining her ultimate goal. However, Nora's killing spree has inadvertently come to the attention of the FBI and agent John O'Hara is assigned to find out what secrets Ms. Sinclair is hiding and what her connection is to another case that he is investigating. Unfortunately for John Nora's charm and captivatingly good looks are too much for him to resist and he finds himself falling for her. He knows that he is playing a dangerous game but now he can't help but to hope for her innocence. As his investigation heats up so does his relationship with Nora and all the while his fathers motto keeps replaying itself in his head "things aren't always what they seem".

In the end I felt that there were a few loose ends that could have been better tied up such as Nora's relationship with her mother a character that I was expecting and looking forward to learning a lot more about and her friends Elaine and Allison whose characters either should have been elaborated upon or completely done away with. It would have also been nice if Patterson had delved a little deeper into Nora's childhood and maybe made the connection between what her mother did and Nora's current crimes. But overall `HONEYMOON' was a good fast paced thriller perfect for a lazy day and I intend to pass my copy along so that others may enjoy it as much as I did!
