Excellent April 30, 2005 Sobainsky (U.K.) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
As a new-comer to yoga I found this book extremly helpful - step-by-step the exercises and traditions are explained. An easy to follow guide and more ... - life-style advice, philosophical background of yoga, meditation techniques, dietary advice. Highly recommended!

A really good comprehensive overview for Hatha Yoga. The photographs, particularly, are clear and give a feel to the postures. An excellent guide for beginners and reference for more advanced students and teachers. The simple explanations of the different aspects of yoga are easy to understand pass on.
An excellent and easy to understand guide January 13, 2002 6 out of 20 found this review helpful
I borrowed this book from the library. As a beginner in yoga I found it helpful to get me on to a more intermediate stage. Carefully following the clear instructions I was able to further my abilities in yoga by practising the more challenging postures. Now I must convince my husband to buy it for me!!
Very comprehensive, easy to read and interesting. December 12, 2000 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is an attractive book which provides both an understanding of the how and why of yoga, and assistance in the practice. It is clear and easy to use, with photographs and programs for sessions of different lengths.
