5 out of 5 stars Lives up to its name!   June 23, 2008

What parent doesn't have a multitude of quetions?? My one regret about the book was that I should have read it earlier. It sat on my bookcase whilst I tried to find the time to read...

When I was looking for answers to questions I was asked if I had read this book. I was embarresed to admit that I did have the book but hadn't actually read it.

Questions such as: How much formula should my baby drink, how much fluid a day is needed, what food groups are required now that weaning has started, how much protein should I give or is safe to give on a daily basis, if my baby takes below the required amount of formula is there a 'food group' substitute, when should I stop giving formula, etc. etc.

So many questions I had were answered by this book. A great read with information clearly presented, great case studies, no baffling or confusing messages.

Makes a great reference book for looking up info as your baby reaches different stages, e.g. 0 to 3 m, 3 to 6 m, weaning guidelines, toddler years and beyond. Totally recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Great help for parents   April 4, 2008
Claudia's Mummy (London)
Having already used Gina Ford's weaning guide and hardback recipe book to great extent, I wasn't sure how much additional information this would give, but I found it really helpful in terms of advice and principles, rather than specific recipes or timetables.

There is useful advice on subjects such as allergies, constipation, colic which whilst not useful to everyone, are a good reference point.

Receommended!

5 out of 5 stars very useful - a real must   April 2, 2008

this book is very useful from weaning and beyond - a real must to have in the house.

5 out of 5 stars A very helpful reference   March 9, 2008
H. Devlin (Cambridge)
The Contented Child's Food Bible is a very useful reference book to have to hand. It explains clearly what constitutes a portion of different types of food for children of different ages and offers guidance on how many portions of each type of food should be eaten daily (or the equivalent of daily averaged out over a week, depending on the food type). I have found it helpful in determining what and how much my child should be eating and when.

5 out of 5 stars Who needs a infant dietician when you have this book!   February 7, 2008
Mrs. Sophie Green
I have had nutritional problems with my baby and this book has been more useful than a one on one appointment with a paediatric dietician. I view myself as fairly well informed on nutrition but I learned tips that I had never come across before in this book - especially advice for fussy eaters and pregnant women.

Really interesting - I'm impressed.
