If you have got a child who is getting started with PECS, then this is a really useful book, very practical and good at explaining the rationale behind some of the techniques used. Good for Speech and Language Therapists, parents, or anyone involved with Autistic children (or children with learning difficulties) on a regular basis. You might pick up some useful information about the basics of communication and visual approaches even if you are not using PECS too. Much easier going than reading the PECS manual!

5 out of 5 stars Practical help, and PECS made easy !!   September 16, 2002

This book is fantastic. It was a life saver for me as a student speech and language therapist, and has become my most borrowed book by parents of cildren with autism. It is a must for any parent who's child is begining to use PECS. Easy to read, and very practical.
