I used this book for when I did microbio in my medical degree. Yes it makes microbiology seem simple, and yes you may giggle a few times while reading it, but it also comes with its flaws. I found myself constantly having to go to the internet because either there was not enough info given, or i found (on ~ 4-5 times) that the info given was wrong! I would only recommend this book to someone who has no interest in micrbio, but has to do the subject, and wants to pass it by any means necessary. Also I found that it was strange for a book that is trying to make things simple, it was much bulkier than the 'proper' textbooks such as those in the lippincott or lange series.

Clear, funny, easy to read. It does help a lot with memorization.
Of course it should be used after studying on a complete microbiology textbook (I used La Placa), but it does help a lot. The cartoons are great.
I strongly suggest it.

This is a great book, so easy to understand.
The book goes through all the difficult topics as well as the basics. Normally microbiology is boring and there are endless pages of facts. However this book is great, very witty. Has pages of pictures that help you to remember the most boring fact. Also each chapter has a summary table at the end of it, which goes through every section like: name of organism, symptoms, treatment. Also the book has many little anagrams, for the drugs as well...so you never forget those annoying cyclosporins!! I would recommend this book for medical students, i think mircobiologists may find this book a little lacking. Easy read!!!!

This book was lots of fun with lots of pictures. These pictures made learning micro interesting and easy. It definitely helped me ace the Boards
