A fantastic resource for any neophyte of psychedelia August 30, 2002 The Tropane Kid (Scotland, United Kingdom) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
What can I say about Alexander Shulgin. An eloquent, intelligent, and empathic personality breaking new ground in a controversial area often considered radical. Shulgin is a regular Marco Polo of the psychopharmacological world and his contribution cannot be overestimated. He refuses to be intimidated by drug hysteria and challenges all to bring their argument against drugs to the table for intelligent debate and open discussion. Read this book before you make any decisions on the drug issue. This will challenge anybody from the anti-drug fraternity. This book gives me a glimmer of hope in a world of continually eroding personal freedoms.
Fascinating extension of psychadelic chemistry of PIHKAL December 1, 1998 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is the second book by the Shulgins which mix their autobiographies with the subjective effects of new and well-studied psychadelic drugs. It lies on the cusp between top-level synthetic chemistry and guru-level self development, and is amust for anyone interested in self development or recreational drug usage. Highly recommended, but it would make more sense if one reads PIHKAL first.
Supportive, critical. November 3, 1998 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
More a scientist,s book, but informative all the same. He makes psychadelic science and learning informative and fun.
