Very well written. August 30, 2006 T.J. (England, West Yorkshire) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
Since I read this book a while ago, I cannot really be fully up to date with all of its aspects. I can remember a few things though which still stick in my mind: -The fact that the story was very well written, I didn't feel that the author had been lazy in describing anything at all. -However I can still remember thinking that the main plot was a little cheesy and unrealistic, but don't get me wrong very romantic. After getting over the cheesy plot, I was able to really connect with the characters in the books, with their emotions and how they were portrayed to me. I enjoyed reading the book, truly. It wasn't at all a waste of time. There were deeper issues which were explored by the author which I felt made up for the initial cheesy-ness of the plot. If you do enjoy reading Romance novels this could possibly be included in your list of books to buy, just if you want a read. If you are looking for something that is going to take your breath away, I'm afraid I have to say you might like to try another book.
Fun Regency Romance September 25, 2005 38 out of 45 found this review helpful
This was the best Regency book I have read - and I have read a great deal. It really does deserve the 5 stars. It has an unusual plot with an intellegent heroine, and regency hero. It was also a change not to have just a feisty heroine for the hero to tame, but a puzzle between the two of them. The way it is written is refreshing - I am looking forward to her next book.
What a book! April 23, 2005 S. Jones (UK) 88 out of 90 found this review helpful
It gives me great pleasure to be the first to write a review for this book, I'm surprised that no one else has. This has to be one of the best romance books I've read to date, and believe me I've read a lot. The storyline is original, and the characters actually come across as real people! Not the poor little damnsel, and the dashing hero. It starts with Miss Quincey, who dresses up as a man to get a job for the Earl of Sinclair, this is to enable her to keep food on the table for her sister, and Grandmere. He, obviously, finds out, and from their friendship strengthens, and Romance is defintly in the air! Buy this book, you wont regret it!
