Good laugh September 26, 2008 Ms. D. L. Parkinson (Uk) Shame it wasn't longer but a good book for a good laugh for a change
disapointing September 3, 2008 Ms. L. Walters (bolton england) this is nothing like a normal adele parks novel. insultingly simple the basic storyline is pridicable and uniteresting. I get that some ppl want short easy to read books but this book is far to basic
Horrible August 24, 2008 Jennifer (UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Wish I hadn't wasted my money, will never buy any of her books again - awful, awful, awful. Worst bit- too babyish should have been for 9 year olds, also terribly predicatable. Only liked one page in whole book. Marian Keyes is so much better, have read lots of short and long stories by her and never disappoint! esp. Further Under the duvet! Her new one also Fab!
Superb! July 25, 2008 Ms. C. M. Wood 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was an excellent quick read and ideal for a short journey on the train! Thoroughly Recommened!
Does what it says on the tin July 13, 2008 Bookwormjo (London) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Adele Parks, one of the UK's most respected and prolific writers of popular womens' fiction has penned a 'quick read' book which aims to get the nation reading by providing a short, snappy novel. Therefore, it was never aiming to be War and Peace, but I did find the large font and narrative rather akin to a child's book. Fair play to Parks, the story which centres around divorcee Lisa and her young family zips along at a cracking pace. The characterisation is somewhat flat though and I kept wanting to give the main character a good talking to at some points, but otherwise I'm sure that the subject matter will be familiar to the majority of female readers.
