Disappointed September 22, 2008 Sonia (UK) I was very disappointed in this book. I was expecting something far better than what was delivered. It took me ages to read this book simply because it didn't grip me. I found one of the scenes particularly creepy-the one where Lucan performs a sexual act on the heroine while she is sleeping. Very creepy imo. I've been told that the series gets better so I'm not giving up on it yet.
Amazing. August 4, 2008 Charlie Bleach (The Moon, Another Galexy) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Loved every minuite of it. It's face pased and action packed with just the right amount of romance. It was an excelent book and would recomend it to any vampire lovers. Or anyone who had read any of the Stephenie Meyer Twilight series as I have and I loved this book, so I'm sure you will too!!
Oh dear................... June 11, 2008 Tingbat 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Having read the other reviews, I thought I would give this a go. Sadly, I have to say that it is one of the worst written books I have ever read - to the point that I was laughing out loud for most of the way through. The characters are contrived, and the sex scenes are awful - it seems that the author was just trying too hard to make them 'sexy', the language changes throughout the book and it is written using the most basic of language. I could go on, but you get the idea. Absolute drivel - so bad I wouldn't even give it away to a charity shop.
Very enjoyable book with big possibilities for the series June 5, 2008 Jessica Simpson (Berks, UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Kiss of Midnight is the first in Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed Series. After running out of JR Ward, Kresley Cole and Sherrilyn Kenyon I bought this book based on an Amazon recomendation and reading the customer reviews. Now as a first in a paranormal romance series, this doesn't knock you off your feet like Ward's 'Dark Lover' does but it is a promising start to a paranormal series. Yes there are Black Daggerhood similarities in this book but if you read it and judge it own it's merits, there is definately something here. After reading this I immediately ordered books 2 & 3 in the series and am thouroughly enjoying them. Where I found these characters differed from the BDB boys, was that they felt more modern. I think this is because their history is not based around a religious head (like the Scribe Virgin) and they a species left that were left to evolve independantly from their creators (flesh and blood beings). If you read it you'll understand what I mean when I say it gives these characters a much larger scope for having a very dark side... Give the series a chance - it grows into its own as it goes on...
Superb May 24, 2008 Caz (London) As someone who had become disallusioned with the whole paranormal romance genre, this book spiked my interest again. The writing is good and fast paced, the characters have some depth and you actually find yourself bothered about whether Lucan succombes to blood lust or not. After finishing this book I promptly went out and bought the rest of the series....all of which I've enjoyed...so far.
