realistic October 22, 2003 Darren Jarvis (England) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The controls are fiddly to begin with but stick with it.. the game is so realistic that it will help you reconise the 'angles' when playing pool in real life.
great fun! May 13, 2003 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This pool game has received a lot of negative comments on various game sites and i have to say they are not at all justified! The game is great fun (especially when you play against friends), has great graphics, realistic ball physics and (once you have spent a few hours on it) easily controlled game play. On the PS2 this game at the moment has only 'International Cue Club' as it's sole 'pool game' competition and it beats that one easily with its superior graphics, easier control system and speed of shot (Cue Club plays soooo slow no matter how far you max out the power meter which is just so frustrating and ruins the game!) So if you're like pool, and even if you don't play it much, give this game a try, spend a little while to master the controls and you won't be disappointed. If you can't afford or have space for your own home pool table this is the solution.. hours of fun.. and it's reasonably priced!
Cr** January 29, 2003 This game may have great graphics, but control is non-existant. A good choice may be the less appealing, but still good game World Championship Snooker. It might not have 9-ball modes, but wheres the fun in 9-ball if you cant pot any balls.
Rubbish October 20, 2001 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
As someone who loves the game of pool and recently bought a PS2, a pool game was first my my shopping list, however I found this game almost impossible to play with very awkward controls, I was lucky to pot two balls in a row, the menus were also terrible and it took me some time just to work out how to start a game, also, coming from England I was dissapointed that it only catered for the American rules (no 8 ball). The one good thing about this game is the graphics and realism, however that is no good if you can't control it properly.
Like any other February 21, 2001 MRS S J WILLS (Mansfield) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Yes,this is a good game but a bit like any other pool game the computer is a master in all situations and your stuck behind the black ball with nowhere to go.It ahs very cool graphics but that doesn't fill those lonely ,rainy sunday afternoons. So,my advise only buy it if you feel that you are the next Steven Davis
