Amazon.co.uk Review Just as in the original Theme Park game, you're placed in the position of the manager of--you guessed it--a theme park, and it's up to you to build the rides and attractions, manage your staff and get the pint-sized punters pouring in to enjoy themselves. Theme Park World has a spin in that you're not limited to one park: you progress through--you guessed it--a world of theme parks, each one having a different theme (jungle or space, for example) and different targets to meet to gain your golden tickets. These are the currency of the game, with which you can open other parks and--if you accumulate enough--actually go into the park you've built. Games like this are normally a little difficult to play on the PlayStation: you have to navigate through a series of menus (which are nevertheless clear in this game) and select options as you scroll around the park. On a PC, or with a PlayStation mouse, gameplay such as this is easier--but bless the creators of Theme Park World for developing an embarrassingly simple way around this: actions are carried out using just the four keys of your controller, which do different things depending on what is currently in the centre of your screen. If you're into world-building games, but are after something a bit more light-hearted and less complex (although the management of a park can be quite a challenge), then Theme Park World could be the game for you. The ease of gameplay, teamed with graphics and a fun concept, make it perfect company for a rainy afternoon. --David Bailey

WOAH September 4, 2007 fast review (england) theam park simulator at its best (get this as pc version has alot of bugs)
It is absolutely rubbish! August 21, 2003 3 out of 10 found this review helpful
I loved the origional theme park, and so I went out and bought theme park world as soon as it was released. It was such a let down. The graphics are nothing special and the game is hard to handle and lacks the origionality that theme park and theme hospital had. It is very easy and can be completed far too easily.
A Brilliant Upgrade July 18, 2002 Darren (United Kingdom) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This game has come a long way since the days of Theme Park, I should know ive bought them all.....this game allows much more freedom in the way you move the camera and within the rides that you build...you can set the number of people allowed on the rides and you can even set the speed that the ride goes, but beware the higher the speed and the more passengers on the ride then the more the ride will need to be fixed. If youve played the first theme park and enjoyed it then Theme Park World is a worthy investment, especially at the price that you pay on Amazon. The game will keep you interested for weeks on end as you try to unlock different parks and new rides....This is the sort of game that you can continue to play for months even if youve completed all the levels and unlocked all the rides.
Theme Park World - Excellent for all the family May 10, 2002 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
What an addictive game! It takes a while to work it out if you, or any other oldies, have never played such a game, but my kids picked it up in an instant (plenty of rules & info in pdf form on the disk, if you know to look for it). Don't spend too long in simulation mode - go straight to the real thing. Great for the whole range of kids, would make a good educational game investment for a school. Love it to bits, would love it more if I could run it properly.WARNING: Incredibly unstable in Win XP, much better in W98 but will need quite a high spec to get the best out of it.
The best Theme Park game in the world March 25, 2002 11 out of 14 found this review helpful
Theme Park World is excellent value. This game is really fun and there are very few downsides to it. You have to build your own theme park in a choice of 4 different themed worlds: jungle, halloween, candyland and space. It keeps you playing for hours. The graphics are really good too. You can walk around your theme park and test out all of the rides. You can also publish your theme parks on to the internet where you can also vote for other people's parks. And there are a lot of them! Definitely 5 star material.
