Very good September 26, 2008 Mr. M. L. Hanford (Hereford,England) I usually buy either a scart or component cable fairly soon after buying a new console as the often bundled composite/euro connector affair is usually rubbish, the component for the original xbox was excellent although on most games the picture wasn't a great deal better than scart, the PS2 however was mostly good, especially for the progressive scan games, but some were awful,WRC,Timesplitters 3 etc seem to have a 'pattern' on them and Broken Sword:TSD was overly sharp, this however is great,I recently bought Perfect Dark Zero and on the euro connector the reds are blurry as is most of the 'boxes/borders',problem solved.good quality cable as well.

This is what you need to get HD if you have one of the early 360's or a core system (these systems are not HDMI enabled). This however, does not matter as the product is easy to connect and gives a great picture. The 360 is very good playing in 1080i now!
Great alternative to the hdmi slot/cable January 17, 2008 Low-Quality (London England) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Last Year I bought an LCD TV/Monitor to replace the old small Standard TV in my bedroom. The main thing I use the screen in my room for is playing my Xbox 360 which is capable of outputting HD graphics. But before I got my new TV I was only playing standard definition graphics through a standard component cables anyway. Unfortunately , my new LCD Widescreen TV/moniter didn't display the 360s graphics as sharply as my old standard definition TV. The image seemed a lot more blurry than my old TV. Luckily on the same day I decided to buy the official Microsoft HD VGA cable for 360, and it fixed this problem and now all my games are displayed in gorgeous HD and running at 720i/p. The image is alot sharper than through my old standard component cables. This cable is also great alternative if you don't have the HDMI slot ( alot of the older 360 batch models including the most of the " Core " packages , will not have a HDMI slot. ) on your 360 or your TV/moniter. Luckily my new TV/monitor had the VGA input/output socket just like all other PC monitors , so I was able to restore picture sharpness even though both my console and Screen have no support for HDMI. So basically what I'm trying to say , this is the choice for you , if your Display unit or 360 doesn't have the HDMI slot. Buying this cable have been one of my best spending decisions for my 360 gaming ! You can still enjoy sharp graphics on a widescreen LCD/plasma even without HDMI !
The Cable to own if you want HD gaming April 13, 2007 Mr. Paul Thompson (Belfast, UK) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I just recently bought a 32" HD tv and was unsure to go with this cable or the VGA one. After reading many reviews I opted for the component cable and it works perfectly. The HD quality of the 360 games is amazing. I have also heard that the other third party cables dont have the proper protection so it is most likely best to go with this official microsoft one. If you are after a cable to make the transition to HD gaming this is the one to get. Gears of War and Fight night look like stunning. Cant wait for Mass Effect and Halo 3.
Great cable..... February 5, 2007 Thakur 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is an excellent pick if you have a HDTV. It does what it says on the box & I was surprised between the difference from the RGB scart cable to the HD AV cable (ofcourse keeping in mind that HD graphics have a much higher resolution than standard). There is a connection for an optical out which is useful, and the HD setting control on one side of the cable. So to sum it up....don't think twice if yo have a HD capable TV!
