Not what I wanted. July 12, 2008 Mr. M. L. Hanford (Hereford,England) I,begrudgingly, played through'The Mystery of the Mummy'and scoffed at it's odd obscure puzzle and constantly awful voiceovers etc...then I got this. One thing,I've not finished it yet,I took it off my PC as I got seriously bored with it.why?,I got stuck for hours all because I hadn't picked up a WHITE glove off the back of a WHITE chair near a WHITE wall,if it had a 'search scene'function like Secret Files:Tunguska I may have stuck with it but moments like this compounded by the mid level 'quizzes'that rely on you having paid attention to some overly long conversation by some prattling nobody and puzzles that possibly only the developers 'got'(the one on the safe made me wince)and a complete lack of Holmes atmosphere,it could be anybodys' game,Basil Brush?,Dennis the Menace?was quite enough, thanks.

I have only recently started playing this game so can say little about it. I am sorry but what does require immediate notice are the alien influences contained within. True this game does very well in portraying Victorian England. It has some realistic British sounding voices, period background music and sounds, and detailed stage sets that attempt to look authentic for the period - but oh, the singular measuring and spelling! It does take a little from this game when Mr.Holmes measures something and tells you the distance in centimetres. Worse yet is when one reads the documents from a variety of sources including Scotland Yard reports. They have American spelling! You see words spelt "color", "behavor", "honor" and "rumor", etc. But as I say apart from the game showing its alien parentage, it is so far a good game worth getting. An interesting and nice diversion from more usual Space Shoot-em Ups.

Not a bad game but very clunky graphics. A couple of timed puzzles which were good. An enjoyable game but don't expected high tech!
