OK - major spoiler June 2, 2008 Hayley Jackson 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a huge fan of the project zero series and up to press I have been impressed by all of the games. Project zero 3 was ok but I have no desire whatsoever to play the game again. I found this game long and drawn out. And to top that off it wasn't the slightest bit scary. I would have given this game 3 stars but killing Miku off was just so wrong. Not the best game I've played but not the worse.
Not as good as the 2nd December 18, 2007 12345678 If you're new to this series, I strongely suggest you to start with the project zero 2, which is much much better than this one. There is three characters in this game, which you play alternatively, which make you difficult to attach to one of them. The characters are not as likable as the project zero 2 too. The story is not as intense as the second one. Since this in this one, you go back to your own safe room after each episode, a respite, which break the intense horrifing feeling, insteads of continuous horror like the 2nd one. The story is not as interesting than the 2nd one any way. A lot of re-use of the backgorunds from the 1st and 2nd games. I wonder if the developers are too lazy to make new backgrounds, or if they think re-using the backgrounds somehow make the game better by offering more connection with the 1st two games. Also, the most unsatisfortory about this game (and almost all of other games released in UK) is that, despite very little, there are some cut, compared to the japanese version. E.g. the shower scene has been cut shoter compared to the Japanese version. (Who say UK is a liberal country, when one can't even play a game as the director intended.)
More Than Just An Episode of Most Haunted October 11, 2007 Daniel Thompson (Gainsborough, England) On the whole though, Project Zero 3 is a truly frightening experience with terrifying moments of attack and also huge moments of relief. The sound effects really do work in favour of a horror experience creating, as to be expected a great tense and frightening atmosphere and when mixed with the intriguing storylines of all three characters, the game itself becomes addictive, despite the sudden disruptions of reality. Fans will love the Easter Eggs of characters and locations combined with the secret Ghosts inside the game to capture, replayablity with different endings do create a challenge for players of all abilities, but Project Zero 3 is nothing original. Compared to Crimson Butterfly the extra features on the Camera Obscura works well for this individual title, but the previous instalment is a better game, more coherent and better paced. Fans will love it, and true horror fans will see something amazing here but on the whole certain aspects of the game let it down to being nothing more than an average horror game. A scary average horror game though ...

Great Game January 25, 2007 M. D. Clyndes (west yorkshire UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have never played the two previous installments of the game but I am a huge fan of survival horrors and thought I handled them pretty well until I bought this and realised that the people who create this game must hate everyone because they have brought out a fantastic game with a brilliant storyline but have made it too scary to play. I can't actually play it for long periods at a time. It does take a while to get used to the controls and the slow running can be annoying but the balance of two worlds make up for it but even though I am always happy when I return to the lovely light world when Rei is awake, it is also very atmospheric, creepy and a lonely place to be. What makes it so scary is that ghosts can appear anywhere and at anytime and you could walk through a room and having nothing happen to you but then return later and there will be something there. There are also big build ups which are very scary. Overall a very enjoyable game but I'm not sure about the rating because it says its 18+ but my copy is a 15 although parents I wouldn't recommend it to a 15 year old, its more of a 16+.
