Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.co.uk Review:
In a nutshell:
The latest SpongeBob SquarePants game is a dream, at least in terms of plot, as SponeBob, Patrick and Plankton imagine themselves both saving and taking over the world in a series of bizarre B-movie themed levels.

The lowdown:
It would seem the nights in Bikini Bottom are as strange as the days as you get to experience the nocturnal fantasies of the heroes and villains from the show. This is basically an excuse for a series of mini-games that range from on-the-rails shoot 'em-ups to flying games and beat 'em-ups. Each controls in a different way, with Patrick's fantasy of the rocket propelled Starfishman and SpongeBob's escape from a giant sized Plankton. SpongeBob also, finally, gets to indulge his fantasy of driving a car in a stylised hot rod race, complete with psychedelic '60s graphics. In fact all of the levels have their own unique style from the '50s pop art of Patrick's Sci-Fi levels to the purposefully fake looking buildings for Plankton to stomp. It's indicative of a surprising amount of effort for what initially seems a simple licensed cash-in.

Most exciting moment:
As well as trying to escape from a Godzilla sized Plankton in one of SpongeBob's levels you also get to play as the cyclopean scoundrel in one of the game's best levels. Here the only objective is to smash everything in your past and finally allow Plankton to win - in his dreams at least.

Since you ask:
The only confirmed playable characters so far are SpongeBob himself, Patrick the starfish and the evil megalomaniac Plankton. Lots more are expected to be unlocked in the final game though.

The bottom line:
SpongeBob's new game is a dream in concept, and not bad in practise either.-HARRISON DENT

5 out of 5 stars the best game i ever got   October 28, 2008

the game creature from the krusty krab is very adventurous and easy.you play as patrick, plankton, and spongebob through an erray of levels.on the first mission you play as spongebob in a race and there are also some on-foot missions.my favorite level is when you rampage through the city of bikini bottom as plankton turned to a giant and into space as patrick star.this game is rated U and i certainly enjoy the game based mayhem of it.

Spongebob Squarepants Creature from the Krusty Krab is realy based on different types of Gameplay. It has 9 levels. That doesnt sound much, but they are VERY LONG!I would recommend it to unexperienced gamers,or Spongebob Fans.

4 out of 5 stars Great for the kids!   November 20, 2006

It was with some trepidation that I bought this latest Spongebob game. My kids are HUGE Spongebob fans, but previous titles have been too difficult for them, They might be colourful and cute, but so often they end up with the kids (aged 7 and 9) handing the pad to mum.

This game, however, was ideal for the kids. There are a few sections where they got stuck, but generally the game is aware that the people playing it are youngsters that don't have the experience or dexterity of older gamers. It looks fantastic, with lots of different styles (including a disturbing style during the races - sort of tattoo/surfer art), it's funny, the kids love it (especially being able to be Plankton)...the only thing is it doesn't have Mr. Krabs. :(

After the disappointing lights, camera, pants game, this is a return to form for spongebob fans, excellent gameplay, superb graphics and plenty to explore. The patrick level is sublime. Buy and enjoy.
