Product Description Prepare to enter a whole new dimension with Super Paper Mario on Wii! The planet's favourite plumber returns in the third Paper Mario game, bringing a different perspective to the series as he calls on old friends - and foes - to help him tackle a mysterious enemy from a bizarre parallel universe. Lead Mario in his quest to overthrow the evil Count Bleck before he succeeds in creating a Chaos Heart and bringing about the end of the world as we know it, playing as Luigi, Princess Peach and Bowser along the way as you free them from captivity. With the Wii Remote held sideways like the traditional NES controller, Mario's quest starts off as a classic platform adventure - but appearances can be deceiving! With a press of the A Button, your perspective on the world changes from 2D to 3D, and the seemingly flat worlds gain hidden depth, with plenty of secrets to be discovered. An involving mixture of RPG and platform elements, Super Paper Mario offers a huge adventure spread over eight eye-catching environments with something new to discover around every corner. Enlist the aid of Pixl sidekicks along your path to gain special skills. By pointing the Wii Remote at the screen for example, you can get secret information and reveal hidden objects along the way!

A good adventure but not Mario's best. July 6, 2008 Stephen Fern (Teesside) For the most part Super Paper Mario is a side scrolling 2D platformer with a few elements of the RPG genre thrown in. It's USP as everyone knows is that you can flip into 3D from time-to-time, which you'll need to do to find your way through each level. It's a great feature which spices up a game which might otherwise be a touch unexciting. The storyline is not particularly compelling but it's adequate for a video game and it's told well using cut-scenes with speech bubbles. As other reveiwers have said, the scene at the beginning is a bit too long but once you get into the action the story is told in much shorter segments and only occasionally leaves you feeling frustrated. Thankfully, the gameplay is in no way frustrating. The platforming sections are fun to play and the puzzles are challenging enough to be satisfying but not so hard that they leave you scratching your head for ages. It looks as good as it plays too, the colours are lush and bright and the artwork is attractive and original. Having said that, it does look more Gamecube than Wii. On the downside, it's probably not a game with much replay value. Once you've played the story all the way through you're not likely to want to do so again. And unlike other RPG's there's not a great deal to divert you from the main storyline. Personally I found the RPG elements a little superficial. Despite the few nagatives I'd definitely recommend this game, although you might want to rent it first to see if it's your thing.
Money well spent June 29, 2008 R-max Super paper mario is a great game with just over 40 hours of game play, four times as much as Halo 3 and Call of duty 4. If you have ever played games like pokemon or any of the previous paper mario games you will definitely love this, however, if you find action and fps(first-person-shooter) games the best then don't buy this. The game is a side-scrolling RPG and at times is a little text heavy but offers a new style of play to the paper mario franchise, the ability to go 3D. I've been playing it for 40 hours and I still haven't completed it fully. Not only this but amazon sells super paper mario for less than its shop retail price saving you even more money. A must-have for any wii owner.
Fun and inventive. May 27, 2008 Mr. R. D. Turner (Derby, UK) Paper Mario is a superb example of a 2D platform game. It is inventive, fun and rewarding. It kept me interested from start to finish. The way that the Pixl's are introduced reminded me of the original Rayman (I got a bit obsessed and played that one to the end too, way back when) in that extra skills are added as the Player progresses and gets more comfortable. It's not perfect, the text gets annoying and having to flip to 3D to find where to go next can be a bit random sometimes but the game has such charm and such a strong narrative that it is all worthwhile. If you like platform games or any of the Mario games then buy this one.
This will become more than a game May 14, 2008 AMIRIGHT? (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game was so good, someone i know deleted someones college work over it and then began to argue with everyone who gave him abuse, definetly a must buy.
rubbish April 22, 2008 Mr. Christopher Simpson (uk) 0 out of 10 found this review helpful
Got this as a Wii package, what complete rubbish!! Traded it in the following day for something decent. All those speech bubbles..... Whats all that about??!! Leave the Wii for Son and Wife to enjoy and I'll stick with the PS3!!
