Amazon.co.uk Review
The greatest battle of the new football season is not between any real world club but between the virtual giants of FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer. Konami's game has always been the favourite but last year FIFA closed the gap to such a degree that the title race has never been closer. This year's FIFA uses a completely new game engine, for the first time built specifically for the next gen consoles. But improved graphics and animation are only the half of it, with just as much focus going on the artificial intelligence thanks to the new "35 point decision engine". What this basically means is that every player on the pitch is fully aware of those around him and constantly thinking about tactics and position when not under your control. Other changes include better modelled physics for taking a shot on goal, which take into account everything from air pressure to the angle of your foot. You're also able to create your own special moves to replicate every possible trick from real life. There are also new game modes including Be A Pro which challenges you to play the role of a single player through a whole season or career. On top of this there are revamped online leagues to play a virtual season in the Premier League, Bundesliga, French League or Mexican 1st Division against real opponents. With 620 licensed teams, 30 offline leagues and 15,000 players as well FIFA might just have made enough new signings this year to put it over the top. Harrison Dent

excellent game May 14, 2008 Mr. M. Asad (UK LONDON) no1 game, on the no1 console, and no1 graphics what more do want? the best fifa game ever made by EA. weather it is ronadlo, messi, fabrigas, or torres, this game is soo realistic and sooo much fun to play from its free kicks to penalties and corners and skills, everything is 10 on 10. I play online with many other challengers which is very kool. the best thing is that it is million times better then pro 2008 on ps3, which is just rubbish. My first game was pro 2008 on ps3, i was soo dissapointed no one was buying the rubbish game from me. I had to sell it for 25, and i bought it for 40. Buying fifa is getting a bargain, excellent game play with a lot of fun and smiles. great game, no words tro describe it dont miss out. Dont get pro 08, which is an utter disaster, konami have floped big time, mabye graphics and game play was too hard to handle this time, very dissapointing!
A good effort May 4, 2008 The Gills This is another really good fifa game and should not be skitted.Every season they do actually get better, apart from the dodgey year of 2003. the players faces do need some work as they still look like plastic models. Online mode is great as you can play against loads of people who post a new challenge. The stadium atmosphere has got better as they actually sing proper songs not same made up chant. I play as Liverpool (5 times) and torres is class. Overall This is a great buy ecspecially as we got it free with playstation.
AMAZING May 3, 2008 Z. Abbouri (London , UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Amazing game. The play is so real although they could make a few adjustments which will hopefully be done for 09. I have to admit pro evo is better on ps2 and psp but its a different story for ps3. The players have been adjusted to their type of play which is amazing and the online system is so fun.
Crap April 19, 2008 James Burdett 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
What is this game playing at??? this is not a touch on pro evo gameplay is so slow and annoying players look like ants. Pro Evo is 10 times better AVOID AT ALL COSTS AND BUY PRO EVO
1-0 to fifa April 13, 2008 Tom Mckinna (doncaster uk) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
ive always played fifa ever since i got it back in 99. but last year i tried out pro evo. it was very good and i thought i would get it again this year until i played fifa. ea have finally listened to the players views and made the game more slick, fast and realistic. with all the licened players and teams, great graphics, fantastic keeper realism although he is hard to beat at first. the way players run has been fine tuned for every player like cristiano ronaldo for example runs shoots heads and even falls over the same. well done fifa a brilliant game. can't wait for 09.
