As good as this sort of game can get on ds? October 3, 2008

Sadly the DS's screens are too small for this game. Technically impressive given the limited processing power - it plays like a Virtua Tennis or Topspin game on a console, but without a larger, higher resolution screen isn't very comfortable to play. If you have a PSP go for Virtua Tennis 3 instead.

I'm an ardent tennis fan, and I was really looking forward to this game (I grabbed it as soon as I saw it on the doormat following my Amazon order and put it into my DS - I was 'really' looking forward to this game, oh yes... :) ). I enjoyed "Top Spin 2" despite finding it a little 'easy' at times (it's not often I find a game too easy... I challenged myself playing the top players on 'Hard' mode).
I love the new features on this game - the 'Inbox' setting is a nice touch, ditto the player record and player items (one problem here is that I can't seem to access any of the items bar the player's attire - I have pressed every button on the DS to try to change my player's hair colour, etc!). I also like the new mini-games. The courts are very realistic looking and the players are very lifelike too.
I find this game a little too 'easy' (as I said earlier, this isn't often the case with me!) and it can become a little repetitive. I don't regret making this purchase though, and would recommend it to any tennis fans... :)
