Best racing game ever made!! October 9, 2004 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
this is the best racing game ever made the sounds and the graphics are the best and the gameplay is excellent BEST RACING GAME EVER!!!!!!!
not as good as the hype seen here September 27, 2004 robert duffield its a good game but all of the fun is squashed by the handling of the cars which don't re-act fast enough to be consistent apart from that it has a very impressive line up of cars. lots of prototypes which is a good thing.
An unlikely classic! March 11, 2003 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I thought that this game would be a cheap racer rushed out to cash in on the PS2 racer success.... However, I was WRONG!!!! It is a classic, the gameplay is good, the graphics surprisingly good for the lack of big software house name behind it. The different cars all handle and drive differently, with many really fantastic ones available for unlocking, including an extra special surprise for the last one! The tracks are detailed and accurate, with a reasonable selection and the bonus of some new ones eg. Rockingham, UK. The driving aids are well done and can be turned on or off individually at the options menu. The sense of driving realism is good, and the game has an overall shine to it missing on so many average racers. Well worth a look, and easily worth the money. Enjoy.
Pretty good game March 3, 2003 Andrew Hale (Crawley Down, England) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game is quite good and has lots of cool cars like the Bentley EXP Speed 8 and the hat-trick winner at Le Mans, the Audi R8 (superb car). It also has good tracks such as the Rockingham Oval and (the old version) Hockenheim in Germany also it has Silverstone and lots more. But...this game just got a fourth star because once you've made your way up to the Prototypes you've done it. But back to the good points. The challenge mode is fun and so is time trial because once you've done a clean lap, the guys at the pits find a way to make your car better eg: Different gear ratios. This game is a must for people who like racing.
Near to greatness, but just short... February 13, 2003 Michael Hayes 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Total Immersion Racing is a game I really wasn't expecting much from but in all respects it has surprised me by actually proving a very good racer. It takes a more official approach than Gran Turismo, based loosely around the Le Mans 24 Hours rules which means it's packed with recognisable cars like the great Bentley Speed 8 and the Audi R8 that has conquered Le Mans three years in a row. Graphically it's very pleasing, with nice effects, great car models and a gritty, realistic look. The handling of the cars is a little imprecise and can be annoying, but you soon learn that the key to driving fast is taking a more measured approach and from here you can appreciate the advanced AI that the developers have been trumpeting pre-release. This game will not give you a new reason to get up in the morning, but is a solid and challenging racer with a well implicated career mode that will provide many hours of enjoyment. Just don't expect a Gran Turismo killer.
