Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars It's better than the original!!   October 30, 2003

Opinion on the original game was divided, you either loved it or loathed it. I can say that most computer magazines at the time hated the game but I thought it was cool. Ok the game play was repetitive and easy, the sound was laughable (Arayase from Your GRAAYVE!!). But for the time the game graphics were like nothing that had been seen at home before, the game was good clean mindless fun. So when a sequel was announced for the GBA I was pleasantly surprised. The new game is better than it predecessor in almost every account, the graphics and sound are certainly both better. It seems strange then that this game has still got the same linear structure and game play of the earlier game with no extra power ups, or special moves. There are far more levels and beasts to control all with different powers, but you can only use them on their specific levels. The game is not that easy and you're not going to breeze through it in your first go, but are you going to want to play it to the end. The game is very formulaic and each level is basically the same with different graphics. It must be noted however that the boss encounters are fantastic much like the original, they are the most imaginative part of the game. I really do like this game but it's not everyone's cup of tea, if you can get hold of it for a price less than 20 I recommend it.
