The BLAZE Xploder Lite system is a decent purchase, especially for around a fiver. The cartridge is compatible with ALL existing Action Replay, Gameshark & Xploder codes; allowing you to access codes for a huge variety of Game Boy and Game Boy colour games. The system comes included with a limited selection of pre-installed codes (including Pokémon Blue, Red, Gold & Silver), and can be updated with upto 256 of your own codes -- you can activate upto 4 codes at once at any one time. The interface initially can be confusing, but after reading the manual, experimenting with the system and playing around a little you will eventually install and save your new codes onto the cartridge -- this, however, can be very time consuming. Should your games freeze during play it doesn't mean that your games have crashed - generally you can solve this by switching the cartridge off (NOT the console) and allow games to load, then simply turning it back on again; as the selected codes do not reset until you turn off your console. Be warned, though, do not save any games while the cartridge is switched on, this can corrupt saved games -- switch the cartridge off before saving to be on the safe side. The cartridge is compatible with original Game Boy consoles, in addition to Game Boy Pocket, Colour and Advance. It is not compatible with the DS. The system is a little fiddly, but can prove to be very good value if you're planning on using it for just one or two games - being compatible with AR, Gameshark & Xploder codes means you have a wide variety of cheats to choose from. The pre-installed codes are somewhat limited, plus its interface could be better, with other options perhaps offering a better alternative (such as the Xploder GB Pro). At the end of the day; if you're looking for a cheap, no-thrills cheat cartridge for your retro Game Boy games then go for it.
k for some games! June 23, 2001 Diane.Benstead@btinternet.com (Cambridge, England) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This cheat cart is for the ever lovelly gameboy/ Gameboy color and was brilliant before the next one they made came out because that one you can teach new cheats but on this one it is a bit easier to use. And comes with about 150 cheats store and a list for other but you have to type it in every time you use it which is really bad but ovarall it is really quite cool for new gamers! A must have for new Gameboy/ Gameboy color owners!
