Perfect! March 5, 2004 Mr. A. P. Cox (West midlands, UK) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I did a minor light mod to my own using a low-power ultra-bright blue tinted LED. What a difference! It lasts probably about 2 hours less than using a normal screen. The LED you get with it is VERY power consuming, but its a generally good idea.Having said that, if you've got a GCN and the 40, its INFINATELY better to invest in a gameboy player as you can see it in the pitch black on your TV screen (play GBA games on a 28inch TV, nuff said)

A bit disappointing, having read the rave reviews it got. VERY heavy on battery power, and using the mains lead sort of defeats the object - if I have to plug the GBA in to power the light, I might as well get a reading lamp! Also found loads of glare. Can't see the games underneath the reflection of my own face - YUK!
Light years advanced (groan) November 2, 2002 Mr. A. Twigge (Brighton UK) 23 out of 25 found this review helpful
Well, this GBA light is the best one out there. It transforms the screen into a veritable feast of bright colours, not the shady one you have to squint at a bit, usually! It also has a link socket on the outside, so you can still do linked GBA's. It whacks the batteries tho' - so always have a pair of AA's in the house. Best GBA purchase I ever made!
Best GBA light by far! October 22, 2002 Jeannie (Notts United Kingdom) 22 out of 24 found this review helpful
After trying several lights, light magnifiers etc, I eventually gave up trying as all the lights I tried previously glared on the screen making them worse than useless!. This one doesn't glare at all! You can angle it so that the light floods the screen and you can even use it in total darkness and still play. In my opinion it's better than the after burner as: 1) You don't have to fiddle around fitting it, you just clip it on. 2) The afterburner tends to fade all the colours in the screen due to too much light (unless you fit a fiddly dimmer switch). I would highly recommend the Light Shield Advance to all GBA owners
The best light for the gba April 3, 2002 35 out of 37 found this review helpful
After trying several other gba lights with poor results, my attention finally turned to this little beauty. The results were superb. A perfectly positioned light adequately lights the screen, and if you angle it correctly, theres no reflection on the screen either, which was a huge drawback with the other lights I've tried. No extra batteries are required as this light uses the existing gameboy power supply, so get yourself an ac adaptor and you've set yourself up for non stop, economical fun! The light even has a built in dimmer switch for varying light conditions. In short, ignore the other screen lights, this is the best by a long way!
