Splinter Cell - The ultimate stealth game October 1, 2006 L. Hulme (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You may be wondering why i have only given 3 stars for fun and 5 overall. i have done this because i think "fun" is the wrong word for this game. More suitable words would be, "nerve-racking", "tense", "addictive" and finally "sheer brilliance". Splinter Cell is the only game for PS2 i do not get bored of. The in-depth storyline and amazing gadgetry give the game a shocking level of realism. SP set the foundations for a variety of stealth games on the market; The Getaway, Hitman, Mafia, none of which even touch Splinter Cell. Well worth the money, will keep you glued to the screen for weeks!
Very Good!! September 22, 2006 Peter Nugent (Hereford) I have to admit that Pandora Tommorow isn't the best of the Splinter Cell series and it dosent have the best game play in the world but if it's a propper steath game that you want and a cheap one that is a bit of fun and that you can become addicted to it for days on end. Then this is the game for you, the game play lasts for hours and to be honest, for 13.99, it great value for money!!
Splinter cell 2- same old February 28, 2006 Helen Savage 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
The splinter cell games are good but they lack one thing- huge all out gun battles where its shoot to kill. Instead you get avoid and stun the guards with your gadgets. Sure stealth games are cool but complete stealth and mission failed if seen more than three times? Give me a break. Its hard enough not wanting to go in guns blazing. You're only lethal weapon ia your 9mm pistol and even its got a silencer on it. Its just too stealthy. Fair enough spies dont get seen a lot but come on. A few gun battles would be nice. The splinter cell games are for hardcore stealth fans only.
As close as you'd get! January 26, 2005 Yugan Rajah (London) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
As far as stealth and close combat games go.Pandora Tomorrow really meets all expectations. At the outset you're impressed by the graphics and ease of movements of characters.Controlling the character does take a little getting used to,but as the game progessors you learn total control without even realising it. The reality of the game and its actions such as,grappling, climbling, scaling fences, stealth mode,SWAT mode,Sniper Mode will definately leave you well into the game and at the best of times set your heart racing a bit.Little things such as ripples when walking through the rain or russelling grass adds to the effects. The game itself is played out over 8 different maps. The change in maps makes sure you're never bored at any level. And of course theres the weapons.A very nice arsenal of weapons (sticky shooters,9mm with a silencer, fully automatic, flash bangs, frag grenades)that either render your enemy unconscious or dead!A shot to the head means he's down immediately, body armour means you have to hit the mid-section at least 2 to 3 times before he goes down.Whats great is that the game allows you to save it at different points which is fab.So you dont make the same mistake twice, and get killed! All things considered, the excellent graphics, addictive gameplay, total game control and a decent story line make Pandora Tomorrow a definate must. You can't go wrong. Well done Ubisoft!
