Good Sniping March 5, 2007 misterbright (Batley, England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I brrowed this off a friend for a month because battlefront 2 is good. The story missions are rubbish but free play is great. In battlefront 2 I found sniping pretty hard but on this it is great. Also the other army have more artificial intelligence or however you spell it. Great game but I'd recomend battlefront 2.
An awsome game. April 1, 2006 random (England) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I love this game. I think it's good to have a star wars game that involves being but one of a huge armies, instead of just being a main character. There are 4 different types of troop, a soldier; with a rifle, a pistol, thermal detonaters (work on troops) and concussion grenades (work on vehicles). There is a rocket launcher; with a rocket launcher, a pistol, mines and some thermal detonaters. A sniper; with a sniper rifle, a pistol, a recon droid, and some thermal detonaters. A pilot with either a blaster cannon, a shock blaster or a grenade launcher; a pistol, a fusion cutter for repairing stuff, and health and ammo packages. There is also a special unit for each team. For the republic, there is the jet trooper, with jet packs, an emp launcher, a pistol, and some thermal detonators. For the Separatists there is the droideka, with rolling abilities, twin blasters and a shield. For the rebels there is the Wookiee smuggler, which is tough, has a bowcaster, a grenade launcher, and time bombs. For the empire there is the dark trooper with jump jets, a blast cannon, a pistol, and some thermal detonators. Also, on the best mode galactic conquest, on singleplayer, being the Seps is called revenge of the sith, but this game came out before episode 3. It is quite an easy game but, as I said, galactic conquest is just awsome. In short i love it. The force is strong in this one.
Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! March 14, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
hi. hey. hello. hiNow i got this fantastic game last christmas (2005) i't still amuses me now. Clone wars has to be the best because u can fly with one of the clones, the c.i.s are good too because with the destroyers you can form a shield around yourself easily and the enemy finds it hard to kill you. On historicle camaign it is good ,but only if you have a cheat to unlock all planets (works with Galatic civil war and clone wars) the cheat to unlock all planets is sircle square sircle square sircle square...keep typing that in till you hear a ringing type of bleep
Lord Vader has entered the battlefield... December 21, 2005 N. Yates (Oxford) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
I purchased this at full price and have always felt that it was money well spent. Now on Platinum, SW:BF is cracking value-for-money.Plus points: 1) Wonderful atmosphere -- the locations and battle participants are well rendered and recreated. The soundtrack is second-to-none, with the Williams scores used to operatic effect. Battles are busy affairs -- there are always a good number of foes on screen at any time. The Star Wars universe is fully utilised. 2) The player-on-player and co-operative action is great fun and played at a pace. If you have a friend who is a Star Wars fan, you'll get sucked into playing this for hours and hours. Negative points: 1) The single player campaigns just don't have the same lasting appeal as the 2 player action. It's still all about "capture the flag/eliminate all enemies". 2) Map difficult is inconsistent: You'll be jacking the game's difficulty up to Hard quite quickly, but some of the maps are deliberately juiced-up in favour of one-side or the other, and although this means you'll have a long-term challenge, it can become frustrating. Other points: 1) The control system is good IMO. 2) Enemy AI never seems to be an issue -- although they're always gung-ho, they don't seem to act bizarrely and their hit-rates always seem fair. 3) Unlike SW:BF2, you can't play the big Jedi characters, which is a shame, but they do make appearances on the battlefield. You do however get the chance to drive Imperial Walkers... Conclusion: If you're a gamer with a buddy and 2 controllers, SW:BF is an excellent purchase on Platinum.
