Is this really the best you could do? May 31, 2008 Mrs. Jennifer Larcombe (Somerset) After the start of the 2008 Formula One season, i felt a need to find this game of my shelf and stick it back in the old PS2. I immediately started a new career, on hard difficulty, and got myself a first driver slot at Torro Rosso. So I head to Bahrain, and manage to find a perfect set up for the car, and qualify first in Q1, Q2. So heading into Q3, i choose my strategy (doing half race distance), and i choose to stop just shy of half distance. I trhought that i could maybe sneak it on to the front 2/3 rows. Oh no, despite choosing, 14 laps of fuel, it decides to give me 26, so i become ridiculously slow. I then get to the race, and i am first by the second corner after starting 10th, yes thats really realistic. I soon get passed though, but not in a clean way, the AI take to barging you off the track, this is no joke, in 4 grand prix i have not been passed cleanly in any race. It always results in damage to your car. Then when it comes to you overtaking them, it becoes an absolute breeze, they just seem to move off the racing line and let you fly on past. I want the AI cars to defend the racing line, and fight tooth and nail, but nope, it is so easy. After the 4 grand prix, i remembered why the game was left on the shelf in the first place, and can only hope that Codemasters can bring some reality in to these series of awful games.
Frustrating November 18, 2007 R. M. Holt (england) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the most frustrating of all the formula one titles i have played, its just been sat on the shelf and ive gone back to playing the 2003 version, which in my opinion is the best formula 1 game availiable

Fantastic game especially on PS3, but really need a 2007 game, have had to resort to GP4 with a 2007 patch which is not ideal. Hurry up and make a new F1 game sony!!!!
Best F1 Game June 27, 2007 f1madmatt (Loughborough, LEICESTERSHIRE United Kingdom) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have owned every F1 game since Formula 1 1997 and this is the best by far. Great graphics & sound effects. I like having the ITV commentary team in career mode. A must buy for F1 fans
Yet another letdown April 26, 2007 Norman Bates (UK) 11 out of 17 found this review helpful
How many years does it take to get a game right? When this series started back with Formula One on PSone it had its problems, but it was the first incarnation of what was to become a long standing series and a glitch or two was forgivable. Hell, it was enough to scream around the formula one circuit pretending you were Damon Hill and have Murray Walker bellowing his own particular brand of nonsense in your ear. But then came Formula One '97 where the promised in-race weather change didn't work properly (you couldn't change tyres, rendering the race unraceable)... Things continued to take a nosedive as each year the game came out it was more a case of 'what problems will it have this time?' rather than looking forward to a host of new and useable features. The '05 edition is the best so far, as '06 has again got fundamental flaws. My main gripe is with the alleged in-race save. Don't bother with it - YOU ARE NOT returned to the point where the save was made, whether it be on lap one or fifty-one, you are dumped (if you're lucky) right at the start of the race with all of the settings you worked through practice and qualifying to get your car just right completely erased. I haven't bothered exploring any further as through experience I know its likely that there are more letdowns laying in wait. Its taken more than ten years to in effect add little more than updated teams, pretty visuals and a few glitchy features. This is simply not good enough. Come on guys, you're not trying! This isn't rocket science, its a COMPUTER GAME. Get your brains in gear and get it right because there are people out here who love Formula One and we deserve better.
