In God of War, Kratos, after being deceived into killing his wife and daughter, denounced his service to Ares. In order to seek absolution from his past sins, the Ghost of Sparta pledged himself as a champion to the Gods for the years to follow - these brutal crusades, in the name of Olympus, became legendary throughout the ancient world.

In God of War: Chains of Olympus, Kratos will journey to lands that no mortal has ever walked upon. With the world plunged in eternal darkness and the Gods rendered powerless, Kratos will face the most feared creatures of Greek Mythology, and ultimately be forced to choose between his own personal redemption and saving the ancient world from certain destruction.

- Epic Gameplay on the PSP system: Keeping true to the God of War franchise, experience dramatic camera angles and epic set pieces, offering a never before seen experience on the PSP system.

- Mythological Odyssey: This story is set in a time before the events of God of War, where players will experience Kratos' journey during the 10 years of servitude to the Gods of Olympus.

- All-New Combat Moves: Players can utilize new brutal combat moves along with their favorite combo attacks from the God of War franchise.

- Exploration: From the Gates of Hades to the Depths of Tartarus, the journey will take players through the dark and brutal world of Greek Mythology. Face-off against all-new creatures from Greek Mythology and engage in epic boss battles.

- Puzzle Solving: As players explore the ancient world, prepare to navigate through a labyrinth of challenging puzzles inter-woven into the story.

- Critically-Acclaimed Franchise: Brought to you by two award-winning development teams, Sony Computer Entertainment America, Santa Monica Studios and Ready At Dawn Studios.

5 out of 5 stars GOD OF THE PSP GAMES   July 6, 2008
chris russell-dudley (coventry,u.k)
Although a little short and a tiny bit frustrating (q.t.e event button notice switching from l/r tapping to analog for example) this game is well worth investing for newbies and g.o.w fans alike.
i had not played the ps2 incarnations but have purchased them on the strength of this amazing title.

a breath of fresh air for the psp which is becoming mired at the moment with crap games or rehashes - god of war is beautifully presented in any way you look at it and im hoping we see more.

Mr. Matthew R. Walsh (UK)
Make no mistake this game is pure GOD OF WAR!,ace fighting the odd puzzle. You will play this game TO THE END!,but this is just it,it ends way to fast Id say its about half a god of war game which is why I give it two stars.I couldent believe it when I completed It,I felt like Ive been RIPPED OFF!.

5 out of 5 stars Addictive Beginning to End   May 17, 2008
M. Lewis (Redditch, UK)
I don't usually play this genre and have hardly ever had the ability or motivation to complete one to the end. However, God of War blew me away! Initially seduced by the top-notch screen shots I thought I'd give it a try. I wasn't disappointed by the graphics or the sound, and once I got used to the controls I just kept playing. As the game progresses it gets increasingly challenging, but importantly, not so much that you get frustrated; and eventually a bit of practice will see you through to the next stage. I've just completed the game and am now contemplating trying again at a higher skill level.

3 out of 5 stars Not as good as it has been hyped up to be   April 28, 2008

I bought this game on the day of it's release expecting to be totally wowed. I'd read all the reviews in the mags "The most important game to be released on the psp" one said!

Granted the story is good. There were wry and witty moments (the two lesbian prisoners were very humourously done). Then all of a sudden the game was over.

What had I missed? had I gone past several levels somehow? I played it again just to see. No! That was it! Over in a jiffy.

Yes the film scenes are entertaining. Yes there was an engaging plot.
Yes the controls were mapped well ............ but I was still left thinking ........... was that it?

One review said that the bar had been raised. Graphically, it probably has but for longevity I get more out of Bomberman and Galaxian than I do this. At least the likes of Monster Hunter keep you engaged for months while you build up characters and their equipment. (No I'm not one of those who cheat their way through games.)

Entertaining and fun but if all PSP games become this short then I'm swapping my PSP for something else. No, not the crappy DS!!!!!!!!!!!
