1 out of 5 stars You'd be a fool to buy this...   June 13, 2008

To put it short this is possibly the worst product datel has ever made for ds.

Let's start off with it's SUPPOSED features. First of all, it has NO gba support what so ever despite this claim made on their site, secondly most homebrew does NOT work straight from the download and must be dldi patched(google it), and thirdly DS GAME BACKUPS WILL NOT WORK WITH ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE, and even at that the software can not patch all games to work on max media dock.

Overall this does not live up to the standard of any flashcart out there. If you don't want to unlock the real potential of your ds get this, otherwise i would advise a m3, a r4ds or a cyclods

3 out of 5 stars Max Media Dock   March 24, 2008

I have a Nintendo DS and it has served me very well. However, I wanted to be able to put media onto it just like the PSP. I saw this MaxMedia Dock as the solution, but no. It has wasted my time and certainly doesn't explain how to use it and 2 of my songs on there didn't work, but they both worked on my mp3 If you do want songs to listen to and films to watch, get an MP3 player and a portable TV. Just don't get it, it's a waste of time and money!

5 out of 5 stars Wow this thing DOSENT suck   April 17, 2007

I can't believe the first review, the DS Media Dock really is the thing that this console needs... and its so simple! When i bought this device I wasn't sure, thanks to the review written on it (Wow this thing sucks) but now i realise his must be broken because all the things written there are all wrong. The music is fine and the Homebrew stuff all works. I just don't understand why this product only shows up on the 3rd page of DS accessories.

Oh and by the way you do need a compact flash disk to work this and if you just get all that then it can't be more simple. Top dog product.

Well, i thought perhaps this was finally the answer for what i had been looking for. All the other homebrew stuff looked complicated, flash cards, passME, all that. I wanted something that was all in one place, but unfortunately i guess i got what i paid for.

The music quality on this is horrendous, i mean- really really bad. If you have anything with a bassline on it at all it's going to distort until you can't hear anything else on it. Huge dissapointment for me, since i dig eletronica.

The video is pretty cool, that works ok, and i have no complaints.

The homebrew action, which was THE PRIMARY REASON I PURCHASED THIS ITEM rarely works at all. I'd say 90% of the games that i have tried to play with this piece of crap don't work, work poorly, or glitch so bad you can't do anything with them.

Read up on homebrew and piece something together yourself. This thing is a waste of money.

5 out of 5 stars A must have for any DS owner   January 21, 2007

The Max Media Dock is a simple and a cheap way to play videos and music on your DS. Compact flash cards are very cheap now, especially off Amazon.
The device is easy to set up. If it's not working, the compact flash card is upside down! Transfere of files is a simple drag and copy. Browsing and playing files is done simply with the stylus. The supplied video converter has converted every file I have asked it to do, and makes them nice and small. A 45 min Tv episode usually ends up being about 100-150 mb.
The TV quality isn't exactly high-def but is just fine for a portable device.
The sound quality is not as good as dedicated mp3 players, but that is the DS not the Media Dock.
One other problem is the product is a bit bulky, and this is especially evident when used with the DS lite.

This product is simply a must for DS owners. Playing videos and mp3s could not be simpler!
