A very disappointing game. May 12, 2003 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is among the worst F1 racing games I have ever played, on any platform. The graphics are jerky and uncomfortable to watch (despite an expansion pack) and the sound effects are crass and overused. Worst of all though is the cars' handling, or lack of it. There is no sense that your inputs on the controller are in any way related to the car's movement on the tracks. After hours of practice you might just be able to complete a lap without hitting anything, but then there's the appalling AI of the computer controlled cars. Black flags or drive-through penalties for all of them!!! Perhaps I'm getting too old for these sort of games, or I've been spoiled by the likes of GP3 on the PC, but I really could not recommend this to anyone.
GOOD BUT OLD!! December 7, 2000 Richard Sutton (Swansea, WALES!) This game is a very good title if you just want a realistic race around the various tracks, but if you are a true F1 fan like me you will notice straight away that it is the '98 season licence. If you don't care about this it is a SUPERB game! But I prefer updated drivers and cars.
my review of "F1 WORLD GRAND PRIX 2". September 6, 2000 Christopher Beaven,(Hitmonlee),16, (West Kent,England.) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game is one of the best F1 games that i have played since i got my N64.It's graphics are quite realistic and the car, tracks and scenery are some of the best yet.But this game is missing a few very vital things that would make it more realistic than ever and more enjoyable than ever. These things are:the cars steering need to be much more lighter and quicker, the damages need to be more horific and more instant as well as the skids and spin off's especially when the cars go round a turn or skim over a corner in the wet,and at the begging of a race there should be an actual warm up lap with the official Mercedes pace car in front of the cars, most especially there needs to be a real commentator like Murray Walker and Martin Brundle as well as the pit crew telling you of events during each race like:who's gone in to the pits, who's crashed out,and who's in the lead. But overall the game is a hoot to play and an absolute "must buy" for car enthusiasts alike.
