Product Description Once the players have bought their dog, they have to take full care; i.e. feed them, wash them, take them out for walks in the neighborhood, play with them, ad cuddle them. Through the built-in DS microphone, players can also each their dogs voice command-lead tricks ? from the classic ?sit? to the more advanced ?backflip?. Once players have trained their puppy up, they can enroll their dog into competitions to prove their talent and earn prize money. There are three different type of competition: an obedience trial, a Frisbee-catching contest, and an obstacle course (against time). With the competition earnings, the player can buy food, toys, and accessories for their dog. It is possible to buy and own up to three puppies at any single time. Amazon.co.uk Review In a nutshell: The ultimate evolution of virtual pet: Nintendogs gives you opportunity to preen and look after a selection of cute puppies in a virtual home, with virtual currency, where you can buy toys and accessories for their enjoyment. You can clean the pups, feed them, walk them, play catch with them, and even talk to them. The lowdown: Nintendogs is brimming with character. Each pup looks out from the DS touchscreen and paws longingly. You can respond to your virtual pet's need of attention by stroking the screen, using items such as balls and brushes with the aid of the stylus, and talking to your dogs through the DS's inbuilt microphone system. Impressive 3D graphics give lifelike animation to these canine wonders. Most exciting moment: After a few attempts to speak commands into the microphone, your puppy understands the meaning of "sit", barks approval, and sits down. It's good to talk. Since you ask: You can keep three pups in your home at any time. When left to their own devices, they'll play and play-fight together. And they call this 'puppy love'. The bottom line: A Nintendog is not just for Christmas. Jonti Davies

you can't name your dog September 15, 2008 J. Mclean (Scotland) After seeing my child struggle for over 40 minutes to get the nintendo machine to recognise the name she was calling (has to happen more than three times) and allow her to type it in, I felt compelled to warn other parents. It is a shame, its a good game which has been completely killed off by unnecessary voice recognition security. I hope someone from nintendo is listening, I am sure people have returned this game due to this design fault.
Cute and fun virtual pet game! September 5, 2008 Gabbi (Cornwall, UK) When I first got this game for Christmas almost 2 years back I never got the hang of it because my dog (a Beagle) never listened when I called its name, so I left the game collecting dust amongst my other DS games. However I started playing it again quite recently thanks to my younger brother who kept the game going, and it's really adorable! The graphics are nice (especially on the puppies themselves!) and looking after them is pretty straight forward. The commands are also easy to do and it's great to see your puppy run at you after calling its name. The only downside is that you can only enter a certain tournament 3 times a day. Same goes for teaching commands to your dog. Because once you've done the tournaments and such, there's not really much left to do except still look after your pups and watch them. In short this game is really fun and REALLY cute! I definitely recommend this to dog lovers and people that enjoy virtual pet games.
Nintendogs dalmation and friends is the best!!!!!! July 26, 2008 WOW! I have not had my DS for long and only have 5 games but I have played on lots and lots of my friends games as well. Out of all the games I have played I would probably put this in my top 5!!! Its fun and you can have up to 8 dogs. You get to name them, teach them there name and tricks, play with them, walk them, take them to agility practice, take them to the park, feed them, dress them, enter them into comotions and lots more! This is also the best nintendogs game! Even though they are all very similar this definatly has the best breeds. Its a easy game to play and I would recomend it for 5 to 14 year olds. The only problem with this game is it can get a bit annoying when you have to keep repeating things. Id say thats the only downside to this game so Id definetly buy it if I were you. You can even get cool keychains, nintendo ds stickers, screen wipers and cuddly toy dogs that are all the same as the game. Its absolutly GREAT!!!!!!
I love dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!! July 23, 2008 I got this game for my birthday. I am a big animal lover. All my friends have nintendogs too and its fun conecting with them. Theres lots of things to do on nintendogs like take them for walks, play with them, enter them in contests and lots more. I love this game and if you're thinking of buying it then buy it and I am sure that you won't be dissapointed.
nintendo dogs June 7, 2008 J. Edwards (england) this is a great game once played always played its just a easy way of owning a dog there are so many differnt breeds of dogs to choose from such as my favorite the german shepard. its so easy to play you can teach your dog to do many great commands you can meet other dogs on bark mode. its great fun for young people. you can feed your pet and givce your pet treats. you get trainer points for good owners and thats how you win contests such asvdisc, agilty and obidince. this game is entertaining for hours. it is worth the money.
