NY Race - The Futuristic Racing Experience January 5, 2002 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Set in a 3D world based on the film, The Fifth Element, you have to race futuristic hover cars with the freedom of vertical and horizontal axes. There are more than 30 different vehichles, including the taxi and police car from the film, each with its own individual set of characteristics, including maneuverability, capacity and speed. Power ups based on the five elements can be collected on the 12 circuits and each vehicle also has its own arsenal of weapons. NY Race was a great idea and it has worked out very well. It is a decent game but there is room for improvement.
Same old Game January 3, 2002 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
My advice to you is to only buy this game if you really like the racing genre, which i don't so sorry if i sound a bit harsh to the game. the game has great graphics and has a very well detailed outside enviroment but the handling of the cars is so sluggish. This game is nothing new from a racing game and i think all gamers would get a bit bored with after a while. Maybe if the game added some extra modes in at least but the game is so boring. I also have proof of how much this game sucks because my friend has it and says its rubbish but all he likes, plays, and lives is racing games. This game makes up for poor gameplay with its excellent graphics though. I would say only buy this game if you adore racing and especially like good graphics.
