Amazon.co.uk Preview In a nutshell: Video games based on movies have never had a terrific track record but this looks like breaking the mould forever. Not only is the Peter Jackson himself involved; but so is the Michel Ancel, creator of video game classics such as Rayman. The results look extraordinary. The lowdown: You take on the roles of both Jack Driscoll and the mighty Kong. Being the big monkey is great, naturally, but the feeling of power is neatly turned on its head when you play as the considerably more vulnerable Jack. Overall, it's an intense, absorbing romp. Most exciting moment: Escaping down some white water rapids as a puny human, chased by two tyrannosaurs rex. Since you ask: Peter Jackson loved Michel Ancel's Beyond Good & Evil game so much that he asked him to make Kong. The bottom line: Potentially, the most cinematic video game ever made. Harrison Dent

action, tension & adventure-all you could ask for! September 19, 2007 jlh (london) i really enjoyed this game from start to end.you really feel as though you are on skull island-the game has a real movie style feel to it.the monster scenes are excellent.being chased by a hungry t-rex is terrifying, apart for when you get to play as kong-which is quite satisfying-as you get to smash up and destroy everthing in sight.for an adventure game this has everything-action,tension,excitement and a whole load of nasty, hungry monsters!
Fantastic Game! May 12, 2007 Deano's (Cheshire, UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game gets a well-deserved 5 stars because it's a brilliant almost-perfect truly exciting and fun game to play. This game is really fun and exciting to play. You start off playing as Jack when you first find yourself on Skull Island with the rest of the characters from the movie. Soon things became really exciting when you enter the Island and Ann is captured by Kong and your mission to rescue her begins. From beginning to end you are amazed and really drawn into this amazing world that they have created full of beasts and creatures and the amazing Kong. Around every corner there's a surprise and a new task or problem to get yourself out of. Each level is individual with amazing scenery and realism. This game should be what Jurassic Park games should have been like because dinosaurs play a huge role in the game and this really is The Lost World. Raptors and Brontosaurs make an appearance but the real demons are the V-Rex's which are extremely difficult to fight and impossoble to kill. That's why you have to play as Kong on certain levels to fight them. Playing as Kong is really fun, he has alot of strength and impact during gameplay and it's really fun to swing from branches and climb walls and smash down walls. His main intention is to protect Ann and on some levels they work together to escape whatever monster is awaiting them. The interaction between them is fantastic and you can pick her up and protect her. Fighting V-Rex's is challenging and one of the best features and you get to hit them, crush them, break their jaws and basically pulp them! Some levels are played as Jack and others Kong but these depend on how far into the story you are so you don't just play as Jack for the first half of the game then Kong the second part, they alternate depending on where you are which is good because if you're starting to get a bit tired of running around as Jack then a Kong level will be just around the corner. Playing as Kong is fun but playing as Jack means more solving how to get through the island and interacting with the other characters so Jack is most of the game and probably the best part. The game follows the stroy of the film and you are mainly alone at the beginning and get seperated from the other characters until you meet up again near the end. The other characters will actually come along with you, give you tips sometimes, and watch your back while fighting difficult enemies and you will have to help them too. Some features include creating/putting out fire, guns/spears, hiding, water/land, swimming, rafting, problem solving. Enemies include the dinosaurs mentioned above, and others include huge bat-like creatures, massive insects, giant snakes, water creatures and the tribe of people on the island. The scenery is stunning and you get to experience this really amazing and dangerous world through every minute of the game which is full of dangers and unusual things. This game is an all-round fun, exciting, frightening and beatiful to look at masterpiece and I reccomend anyone into these kind of explore and discover and fight type of games to buy it or rent it, you'll not be dissapointed!
Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie February 16, 2007 S. Negandhi 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game is almost perfect. The grapics are briliant and the gameplay is briliant. You can play as Jack Driscoll or Kong. There are a lot more Jack missions than Kong missions, but Jack missons are more fun. The only problem with the game is that when your character loses health, the screen turns red, so you can't see very well. The movie is briliant too.
fantastic December 7, 2006 sir gamer (united kingdom, oxford, eyn) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
When you start playing this game it is a storm. It loads up really quickly, which is good if you like to start playong strait away. Also the monsters are done in especially good graplic's. But if you run out of bullets it is really hard to kill them with spears. It doesn't really have a very good ending though. It just cuts off.
great game October 10, 2006 sam (Englend) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
When I first played the game I noted that you where person and hate being first person. But as I started to play the game I started to learn it was not so bad. I rely like the sense of great threat when you are man but when you are Kong you then have a sense of power. Another great thing is you practically have infinity life but when the screen stats to go red try not to get hit or you will die. A must by game but one down point is that the title is to long.
