4 out of 5 stars huge improvement on version 1   August 29, 2007
G. Park (Benton, North Tyneside United Kingdom)
I liked the theory of the first version of this game, i.e. physically swinging a mini club and having your movement replicated on the screen. But it was disappointing.
This new version is so much better, chiefly because of improved graphics all round, a nice putting grid which helps you judge pace and direction, and the addition of bonuses to unlock, gold pins to win (for first birdie etc.), and statistics, so you can see your longest drive, hole finished in shortest/longest time etc.
Personally I find the driving easy and the putting hard, perhaps that's normal.
It's not perfect. Allis's commentary is almost always negative when you're putting, which is odd when, for example, you've got a 3 foot birdie putt.
Also the music is awful, first thing I did was switch it off, but I feel that about nearly all games.
I hope gametrak aren't put out of business by the wii, would love to see more games, particularly the proposed sword fighting one, that could be quite a workout.
A bargain really. Has inspired me to buy a real club and some practice balls.

5 out of 5 stars I was scetical but......   June 21, 2007

I was a little sceptical with this one until I got up and running!! Easy to install and the courses are fine. It really is an unbelievably addictive game and great to play. The movement - unlike ohter all in one controller/ game bundles is excellent - totally recommneded - and I hear that this technology will soon be in PS2/XBOX format - nice!!

Game Track Golf has better graphics than i expected but still could be improved but the game is not about the graphics its about playing golf. It is very easy to hook the ball which makes the game harder. I would advise someone to buy the game.

5 out of 5 stars Easy to pick up ,,,, hard to put down   December 30, 2006

As an on and off golfer of some 17 years my interest has been recently revived. I spotted this some months ago and held it in mind as christmas present.

I almost bought it a few times before then held off as I wasn't too sure whether it would be any good. But in the end I stumped up for the gametrak controller and then got RWG2007 as a present and boy am I glad I did.

First off the game is fantastic, the courses look great and the dynamics of the real world are pretty well reflected in my opinion. It may be sad but to see pretty much every movement reflected on the screen even down to opening your grip and watching the ball slice off into the water is something I'm still a little in awe of at the moment.
You do feel a bit of a plonker stood infront of a TV swinging away but after a few great drives followed by some awful approach play (ala my real game) you forget that the curtains aren't drawn and your neighbours are thinking you've finally flipped.

The swing trainer is a great addition to the game and helps you visualise where your swing goes wrong. There are games, I've not unlocked the rest but the target game really helps you to sense how hard to swing and place your shots.
I've found myself really concentrating on my swing, grip and feet placement and have a sense that my posture and grip has a greater consistency after only a few days. After all confidence and consistency is a key element of a golfers game.

I've rated this so highly as it is an absolutely fantastic substitute for when you either don't have time to play for real or like me often can't afford to.

It does have its down sides but these aren't because of the game.
One, I didn't realise that the gametrak controller on here doesn't include the mini club (which Amazon don't seperately for some reason??) so I've had to order it seperately - the game is still usable without the club.
Two, if you haven't got a rug infront of your TV either get one or like me get some spare carpet to play on as within 2 days of starting to play i was starting to wear away the carpet.
Three, don't get it if you hate exercise as I really felt like I'd had a work out after playing the Belfry a few times.

Overal - if you're a golfer - get Real World Golf ... simple as that.

5 out of 5 stars A Must Have   October 6, 2006

This game is amazing. The gametrak system is able to pick up every detail of your swing. This is from the arc and speed of of your swing, to the tilt of the club head in any direction as you strike the ball. I am extremely impressed with the ease of use. The tutorials and swing trainer / impact analysis help you to improve your swing. It has various difficulty levels. On the professional mode it is less forgiving with the errors in your swing and a good challenge. I was not expecting the system to be as advanced and accurate as it is. It is a must have.

On the down side the game is full of flaws. These are mostly in the commentary. After driving a shot he says "I dont think you realise how far over par you are" and similar things. The game freezes everytime you reduce your handicap (which is scary after playing for hours to achieve this) but if you are patient it will get back on track and you can breathe a sigh of relief.

The outstanding gameplay far outweighs the flaws and hence I have given this a 5 star rating.
