Amazon.co.uk Developed by Yokohama-based Arc System Works, Guilty Gear Core is the third installment in the series and is widely cited as one of the most carefully balanced fighting games in existence, thanks to a refined combat system with three new game play modes. Guilty Gear Core features over 20 deadly combatants and includes an alternate EX version of all the existing characters. On top of all this, the game also introduces two reinvented fighters, A.B.A. and Order-Sol, who have never been seen outside of Japan. Guilty Gear Core makes maximum use of the Wii controller, allowing players to move characters with the control pad on the Nunchuk and use the Wii Remote for both simple and special attacks. Some of the less powerful attacks are mapped on the Wii Remote buttons and the special attacks are executed through both button and movement with the Nunchuk or the Wii Remote.

Heaven or Hell? March 24, 2008 Mr. A. J. Bender 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A really fast, incredibly technical and vivid 2D beat em up!! In response to some of the overly critical reviews that the game reviewed in reference to it's controls, I think it is important to point out, the game is designed and is best played using the gamecube pad or classic control attachment..I have to be honest I haven't bothered with the wii remote and anyone buying this game would be best advised to play it the way inteneded. The game really does looks smooth and features some attractive if not slightly bizarre character models I've seen. The pace that the battles can reach is nothing less then sickening and the hardcore guitar mashing only aids in the fun. Being a fan of this genre, I instantly fell for Guilty Gear and it's lush design, perhaps the only criticism I had was for the surface depth of the game. If like me you like to beat a game and be treated to some nice cut scenes, you will be sadly disapointed, however it really isn't about that !! this is one for the hardcore beat em junkie, but anyonee who wants to get canned up and beat some friends to the sound of guitars being mashed will adore this.. Heaven or Hell...Heaven for some, hell for the casual gamer who can't get past the dated genre of 2d beat em ups!
