Knockout..! June 29, 2008 Bogleman (U.K) I believe the EA franchise has been the most enjoyable to date for boxing games. From playing Fight Night 2004 (and loving it), I couldn't wait to get my hands on this for the PS3. The game has a catchy soundtrack, career mode and very good graphics. It can get repetitive (training is split into 3 categories - tedious after a while), but the game-play makes up for this. The fights are intense and clever. The total punch system is easy to use after practice making the game very, very fun to play. Overall, not a five, because I do think EA could have made this game a lot lot better.
Brilliant February 20, 2008 Marcus Ellis was a bit hesitant because of the mix reviews this game had but i must admit its a absoulte excellent game and it rocks on the ps3 the game is so addictive i havent even touched online mode yet its just so fun beating on other players the slow motion hits are amazing a must have
Lets get ready to RUMBLE!! January 30, 2008 Daniel Freeman (Ipswich, England) This was one of the first games i bought for my PS3 as i have been a fan of the series since Fight Night 2004 on the PS2. This is basically the same with a few added extras and much better graphics. To be honest, i'm not even a boxing fan but i still enjoy this game as its fun to pummel people! If you are a boxing fan then this is definately the game to get as there aren't any other decent boxing games out at the moment (there aren't actually ANY other boxing games for the PS3). The controls take a little while to get used to but once you get into the game it's much more rewarding winning fights when you're not just button bashing the whole time. Despite what others have said on this page the graphics are really good. you can see each individual drop of sweat on the boxers and cuts and swelling also look really good. Its also good fun to play this game with other paople and the online mode i've found to be very reliable. There aren't any issues with lag and you can always find people to fight. Overall, a good game that i would recommend to anyone but especially fans of boxing.
An OK boxing game but not KO January 29, 2008 Mr. R. Smith (uk) This an ok game but not great! To start of with the controls are brillant to start with something positive but thats it. the graphics are not great, infact for the 'next gen' its poor. i got bored with it after 2 days play, having compleated it! My advise is buy it only if you realy realy like boxing!!
Best boxing game.. bar none January 4, 2008 Jonny T (London, England) The controls take a little getting used to.. the tutorials help though.. my advice is to use first person mode, you'll be dodging / weaving / counterpunching / falling off the sofa in no time at all. It'll take some getting used to but its well worth it ! I've been trhough career mode 3 or 4 times now and its only just sarting to get tired. Online is a bit hit and miss, but grab a mate and a few beers and you'll never tire of beating the snot out of each other !
