SingStar fans are in for a treat this summer with the launch of SingStar Vol. 2 on PLAYSTATION3 (PS3). The new addition to the multi-million selling franchise features 30 new tracks, a brand new harmony duet mode, PSP (PlayStationPortable) Remote Play functionalities, increased levels of personalisation and an entry point to My SingStar Online - the rapidly growing online SingStar community.

Whether you're an entertainer, a diva, a rocker, a crooner or hip hopster - or even a shy star - there will be something for you on the disc's 30-strong track list. Artists featured include The Killers, Eminem, Kaiser Chiefs, Gorillaz and many many more. All track features the original music video for you to enjoy!

SingStar Vol. 2 will feature a harmony duet mode: a new way of playing that allows two players to sing different lines to a song at the same time, showing off their harmonising skills. This is really your chance to showcase your talent and adds a new dimension to the SingStar experience! Special tracks have been included to showcase this new mode such as Kool and the Gang: Celebration, the Paul McCartney & the Frog Chorus: We all Stand Together and The Mamas & The Papas: California Dreamin'.

As if that wasn't enough, SingStar Vol. 2 also includes Remote Play functionalities with PSP. Using PSP and a wireless Internet connection, players will be able to access various areas of the game such as:

SingStore: browse, select and download new songs, from SingStore remotely. This is really your chance to get your favourite party tracklist ready before you're heading back home! My SingStar Online: browse and participate in all areas, rate media, leave comments, take part in polls, etc.). You can now continue to be part of the SingStar community on the go: share and show off hilarious and killer performances to your friends and family!

As with the first instalment of SingStar on PS3, SingStar Vol. 2 gives players instant access to SingStore, the ever-expanding online download store where extra tracks can be purchased, allowing players to add to their collection of songs and create their own SingStar playlists to suit their party mood. There are currently over 300 tracks in SingStore costing 1.49€ / 0.99 per track. Make sure you're part of My SingStar Online, the next-generation community where players can share their performances with the world after capturing them with a PLAYSTATIONEye or EyeToy camera

1 out of 5 stars Very dissapointed   September 18, 2008

I have bought most of the previous singstar disks, for my girlfriend of course, but I wont be buying any more. When the new game came out with the download option I was very happy that I would be able to have all of the songs on one hard drive. But low and behold, Sony have decided to bring out a new version with different tracks and claims of an updated 'harmony' function. Firstly, other games don't seem to have a problem downloading updates and secondly, the new songs are not available for download. So if I want them, I have to buy the disk and go back to swapping.

2 out of 5 stars Not worth the money if songs are available for download   July 27, 2008

I have Singstar 1 for PS3 and after an update also have a new harmony mode with some of the songs I have downloaded. I dont want to change discs in the middle of a game and dont want to have a second disc. If the songs on the new disc are not available for download then playstation are not rewarding loyal customers. We have over 150 songs now and I dont want my kids changing the disc over and over again when playing the game. (Where are the wireless mics. featured in the intro of the first disc, perhaps they should sort this first)

5 out of 5 stars Moaning   July 4, 2008

I don't understand why people are complaining about a 2nd PS3 singstar. Fair enough, there isn't always going to be every song on it that you like but it;s a fun variety. Yes, you pay 99p per song when you order them but when do you ever buy 20 or so in one go? I love the discs & they are no end of fun in our house. Keep 'em coming

5 out of 5 stars Great songs and update on ways to sing   June 21, 2008

I don't know what people are moaning about. 40 for 30 songs??? Only if the buy the microphones again. This game is better value for money depending on where you buy it ( 17.99 for 30 songs without mics). They have updated the way that two people can sing together, which was needed for certain songs. They are just supplying what is being demanded.

Anyway the songs are great, its good that they are bring out as many songs as they do and the new 2 playing singing is great. Cant wait for disc 3!!!

I cannot believe this like the former reviews singstar + singstore was supposed to be one disc and online downloads. Well the first disc was limited to what it had and as for the store it gave no more really and now they give us singstar 2 woop dee do it's all just chart music and no real variety an example of this is demonstrated when the online store classes kt tunstall as rock why because she has a guitar if you like! why is sony afraid to put other songs on other than the safe top 10 chart singles. If they make a 3rd disc it should be a remake of the rock installment but make it real rock such as metallica, guns 'n' roses and so on please rectify these mistakes sony.
