Product Description Sonic is tumbling onto all of the next-gen consoles including the Wii. In this Nintendo-exclusive instalment, Sonic finds himself in an Arabian Nights themed world. A genie has entrusted him with a strange mission that will take him far away across magnificent countries. You can get the most out of Sonic and the Secret Rings with the Wiimote. Propel Sonic head-first into the action by moving the Wiimote and make him perform several combo moves with just a twist of the wrist. The game also includes a multi-gamer mode for up to 4 players.
Amazon.co.uk Review: In a nutshell: Sonic the Hedgehog is going back to basics with a straight up 3D race game that ditches all the guns, vehicles and hangers-on from the more recent games and concentrates on pure speed and platform action. The lowdown: The blue speedster has come a long way since the Mega Drive days, a bit too far some would say - since many of his more recent games bear little relation to his original platform antics. This looks a lot more like the old games though (even though it's got a weird Arabian Nights back story) as you simply move left and right with the Wii Remote and use the '2' button to jump. You can also reverse up by tilting the remote and do a homing attack on enemies by lifting the controller up vertically, but that and a slowly filling turbo boost bar is as complicated as things get. The graphics though are anything but basic and some of the best yet seen on the Wii, with a great sense of speed that's vital to any good Sonic game. Most exciting moment: Despite the storyline taking place in a dream world based on the Arabian Nights the game doesn't exactly stick close to the original text. One of the best levels is filled with dinosaurs and has you outrunning a series of giant lizards before getting catapulted through a waterfall and enjoying a break neck white water rapids run on the back of a log. Since you ask: Although Sonic is the only playable character in the game, according to Sega another of his friends will feature in the game, but portrayed in "a different light". Archenemy Dr Robotnik/Eggman is also promised to make an appearance in some form. The bottom line: Sonic returns to his roots in his best looking 3D game for ages.-HARRISON DENT

intense June 29, 2008 Mr. Sjg Forster love this game, once you unlock all skills its well fast. some levels a bit frustration
Avoid this game June 11, 2008 P. Butterworth (Halifax) After buying this game, i was very disappointed to find how little interaction is required from the player to complete the game, sure the visuals are quite impressive (for the Wii) and the speed Sonic runs can send you dizzy at times but there isnt much to it at all, you could start a level, press jump a couple of times, go make a brew, come back press left or right then jump and then leave it to finish..... not much fun to be honest. (This maybe a little harsh but no-one can honestly say the game has any hold for anyone over 10 years old) The two player games are better than the main game but then once you have done a few there is little to keep you interested Save your pennies and buy something else instead
"the worst game i have ever played June 11, 2008 Mr. A. R. Hallows This game at first is great, very fun, levels of a standard that allow you improve and understand what is happening. However after about the second/third ring everything is way to long, the checkpoints to far back and everything gets far too repetitive, boring and may I say the worst game i have ever played. I can't emphasize enough that this game is terrible unless you are someone who only likes to do extremely simple things, over, and over, and over. most missions are ones that are on the same track and you have to do very similar things many many times before you can unlock the next ring level. don't waste your money on a terrible railed game, buy something like mario kart if you want a racing/fast moving game
Really good fun May 4, 2008 Pinky (Staffs, UK) I got this game when i bought my wii. It's set out in stages, unlike the last sonic game i played. you complete the missions to complete the story - a really nice way to play i have found. The game makes good use of the wii's interactivity. The only let down is the multiplayer mode, you can only play multi player in the party games included, not on the actual game.
