Lovely little drop of Eau! March 10, 2008 Mr. Robert D. Whitehead 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well done to Konami for this innovative game, fantastic fun for children and adults. Has echo's of other Konami hits such as Frogger but with lots of new and exciting ways to use the Wii controls. A warning though - this is quite addictive and when the children finish playing it's hard not to pick up and while a way a level or two yourself! Cheaper than other Wii games and definately one to have in the collection.
Misunderstood Old-School Fun December 27, 2007 Mr. H. Williams (Somerset, UK) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I've read a few reviews of Dewy about the internet and they very nearly put me off from buying this little-known gem. Reviewers seem to get stuck on the odd controls, and the fact that it looks like a game for kids, but is too difficult for them to play. Firstly, I think the controls are wonderful. You play Dewy, a drop of water, so how else would you move him about? An analogue stick wouldn't feel right. So the developers made a good choice in letting you tip him in the direction you intend: Like a marble game (Monkey Ball, Kororinpa, etc). Couple this with the enemies to kill, captives to save, and items to collect, and it can get quite hectic. I love it. Essentially this is a Mario game but with tip-controls. This game looks wonderful - like a fairy tale. If that bothers you, or you didn't like Eleedes, I'd advise you look elsewhere. For me, it all adds to the charm. So what if a 3-year-old wouldn't be able to play? With the ability to change each stage between 3 temperatures (cold, normal and hot - changing Dewy's state respectively to ice, water and steam), earthquakes, gales, I (at 24) can barely play this. The bottom line is, this is a challenging and rewarding game that I can't put down. It keeps calling me back for more. And with the ability to create new levels, I think I'll oblige it. Rent it if you're not sure, but buy it if you got the cash.
